Seriously, it is the lack of a class system that made Halo's multiplayer so uniquely enjoyable and addictive.

Having a basic weapon to start off with, with many others scattered around the map, is still quite a rare trait of multiplayer games to this day. It offers much greater variety and choices than a class system ever could. Many of the fans stick with Halo mostly because it lacks that abomination of multiplayer fun, which keeps Halo fresh and dynamic.

So please Bungie, don't make Halo: Reach a class-based game. I'm half-dreading further information about this game, for fear that what made Halo into Halo will be scrapped. Please don't ruin it.

Just because it seems impossible
Does not mean it is not right.

You are 100 percent right, I don't want to immediatly think of Call of Duty when I pop in Halo.

i know what you are saying

in all of the halo games there have been every body started with the same weapon to make it more fair

where are all of these little kids comeing up with ideas that halo is going to be class based?

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

It's just CoD fans on bungie saying 'OH MAI GOD, LIEK, WOULDNT IT BEEE SOOOOOO KEWL IF HALOZ HAD CLASSES?!?! LOLOLOL!!!'

Or just random snipewhores/shotgunwhores/etc. that want to constantly start out with their favorit weapon, instead of fighting the opposing team over a certain weapon.

That's correct. No matter what kind of class system we see its not Halo. Halo has defined itself as a game were weapons and vehicles are on map and you use them to win. Nothing else would feel like Halo no matter how much it looks like Halo. I wouldn't buy the game if it were classed based. Bungie has done a great job being unique. I would hate to see that change.

i do not accept recruitment messages

dont like it, play some odst

I think it's safe to assume there won't be a class system, no ifs required.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

Agreed.

If Reach is a class based shooter I will not be purchasing it unless I hear great things about it from people who have played the game first hand. Even then, I'll probably end up returning it.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I think that's true. Halo's multiplayer is based on everyone being equal off the spawn. If there's a load of other factors involved, that goes out the window.

What if in campaign, you're each a spartan, that spawns with a different set of weapons?

See now, I thought the majority of them were misinformed Valve fans. Of course that's giving them too much credit.

That sort of happens in Halo 3 Campaign, with the Spartan/Elites, but that isn't what this thread is about and that wouldn't bother me anywhere near as much.

Why don't people understand love
:CCCCCCCCCCC

I doubt Reach will be classed based. Look at the Unreal games, they have barely changed a bit over the years and yet loads of people still play them. Do you know why? Because it's fine the way it is, and while I admit when somebody says something in halo MP could be changed or improved I'll be the first to agree. But I don't think such a BIG change would work (at least not so soon).

I agree, but I don't think it's a particularly original concept. It's a more traditional style FPS.

I have always been a fan of Halo. At first when I played Halo 1 I could not get past level 2. But when my friend showed me how, he had just made bungie a customer for life. I started playing the campaign all the time, and when Halo 2 came out I was thrilled to continue the Halo story. Although I could not go on live it was still a great experience. Then when Halo 3 finally came out I was so excited and I had some of my friends come over to play it. I eventually got live about a year ago in may. But all my friends keep on slagging me in the sense of "Halo 3 is crap, play CoD 4, CoD5 and GTA". But I could not explain to them just how much I liked Halo, I always wondered why I liked it so much, I mean the graphics are not the best, there are other games with more blood, but I guess you guys answered that question for me. I always like Halo because it is a unique game of which you start off equal and work your way to victory. I like Halo so much I read all the Halo books at least 3 times!!! I can answer almost any question you ask me about Halo, I am very good at referencing quotes and information off by heart.
Now to get to the point of this reply ^^. I agree that Halo: Reach should not be a class based game, because it takes away the feeling you get as the Master chief or any other spartan when you play differently to how we are all so used to. I will still buy the game but I just won't give it the same respect that I give Halo if it is class based. Thank you for reading this. If you get this far into this reply I would just like to say ROCK ON GAMERS OF XBOX LIVE!!!!!! lol Thank you for your time.
