Subject: ODST strength

Apparently, ODSTs are strong enough to hold turrets. If an ODST was driving a Scorpion tank and it somehow flipped over, would the ODST be strong enough to flip the tank back over like Master Chief or would he be forced to leave it?

We're all going to hell we may as well (GO OUT IN STYLE)! /// Diamond's Aren't Forever -- Bring Me The Horizon.

Um... how is a turret anywhere near the same weight as a scorpion tank?

Then again why is a spartan slowed down by carrying a turret when he can flip a tank....

Realistically, he would be forced to leave it.

The universe is probably littered with the one-planet graves of cultures which made the sensible economic decision that there's no good reason to go into space--each discovered, studied, and remembered by the ones who made the irrational decision.

I too am curious as to how they limited the strength of the ODST soldiers. We know how according to cannon they should be like, however since this game was built off halo 3's dynamics I wonder if the strength factor is the same.

Hush. If you’re quiet enough, you can hear it on lips of unborn babes.

It's a game....a video game.

And I doubt the Scorpion tank will even make and appearance in ODST's Campaign.

Obviously.

This is a forum. A Halo 3 ODST forum.

So, there is nothing wrong with discussing an ODST's capabilities in a ODST forum.

I didn't say anywhere that the turret was close to the same weight of the tank. I was just saying I didn't know a ODST was enough to carry it if it's that heavy for a spartan. And when holding the turret, would an ODST be even slower than a spartan holding it?

Here I am, Here I stay. Endless and Infinite.

I think the ODSTs strength is out of the question in terms of playing Firefight, it's for good gameplay. As for campaign? Who knows.

When this is asked over and over and it is answered more and more times (a few by Bungie Employees I might add), this is wrong.

It's a video game. It's the same circumstances like when the MC can flip a tank but can't control the recoil of an SMG.

You're right. By your logic, most of the questions on this forum have already been asked and most of the threads here have already been made. So, since it is so wrong all of the members should go to hell because they posted a repeat topic on a video game developer's website.

Once again I'll explain, Campaign mode will relate to the ODST's natural health systems and Firefight won't act that realistic to the ODST's health, so please stop arguing about it.

It's all in good fun!

I'm pretty sure they're ready and willing to cut a bit of realism for a bit of playability.

The fight has been complete.... now get the cookies!

While we certainly share your enthusiasm for the return, we here at the Bungie.net community are mostly made up of snarky asses and jerks who will ridicule you for making a thread about something revealed months ago. We regret that your innocent intentions will almost certainly be replied with anger and sarcasm, and politely invite you to don your Flame-suit, because you just did the internet equivalent of jumping up the Construct lifts.

Look at 1:25 of the gameplay trailer, shows you shooting a phantom with a tank.

The AR is an awesome weapon, RESPECT IT AS SUCH!!!

....well, i would presume that you would need several ODST's to flip it.... that would be a nice game feature

=D

I would hope that as an ODST, you wouldn't be able to flip vehicles. It makes vehicles (such as tanks) more valuable.

  • 07.15.2009 9:38 AM PDT

how could they even flip a scorpion? i can only do it in forge mode

  • 07.15.2009 9:55 AM PDT

What's hot, sexy and purple?

Ayane (and the Wraith :-D)

guys it's still Halo. And the limitations like non-dual wielding only have one reason: to give Halo 3 ODST an individual style.
You will be able to punch a brute out of a wraith tank and many other stuff (firefight gameplay videos already confirmed it).

The ODST soldiers in Halo 3 ODST are nothing more than "spartans with black armor " + some limitations.

I think they just slowed down SPARTANS for balance. I bet any SPARTAN could dual wield turrets with no difficulty at all.
