Subject: Bungie.. I think you made a mistake..

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

"After the graduation of the first class of SPARTAN-IIs in 2525, Dr. Halsey began planning for the next wave of Spartans, her efforts however ran into problems, there were too few candidates that were in sync with her age restriction protocol, and a majority of her funding was going towards MJOLNIR maintenance, and construction, leaving little room for continued training efforts"

In other words, PROJECT CANCELED.

Hey Toa Freak , pay attention to what you posted, you killed your own argument.

Finish reading the page. If you look at the ilovebees page from Halopedia, it also has quotes talking about how parts of ilovebees would be made part of the Halo canon. further, how do you explain the tags of Sierra-259 and Sierra-320 if there were only 150 original spartan candidates?

the others currently-unknown Spartans of Team Beta.

I'd like to know how you know they are in "Team Beta" isn't that just something you made up? I'm not being a dick but don't tell people falsely unless you are certain. You made up team Beta, and bungie hasn't confirmed this or not.
Team Beta is from the nvoel First Strike. If Spartan-259 is the playable character, he is either in Team Beta or Team Delta, since those were the only two teams with unnamed Spartans. Since Team Delta was virtually crippled and only 3-strong after half the team was stuck in CASTLE base, Team Beta is the only logical choice for who we will play as. Especially since they are the only team with at least 5 combat-effective Spartans in it (Alpha had 3, Beta had 11, Gamma had 3, Delta had 6 cripples)

In the banner with all the Spartans. You got Fred mixed with Sam, or whatshisface.
Fred is the biggest one, and uses the hunting knife. But Sam((Whatshisface)) is clearly the biggest, on the far left, for he is wearing Mark IV Armor.

Bungie, you made a mistake with the books. And I haven't even read em yet.
If you didn't read the books? Why even post this? Sam is the biggest, it clearly states that in FoR. Also, we have no proof of who those five are. We are just guessing it is Sam, Fred, Kelly, Linda, and John.

There's a thread somewhere in these forums that specifically talks about what is canon and what is not canon. Bungie has said ilovebees is not canon.

If this was indeed a "second class" of Spartan II's then I'm willing to bet the first generation of SII's would have noticed because this is the battle of reach, where nearly all the SPARTANs were dropped onto the ground of reach. If more suddenly popped up, they probably would have noticed or known.

There are something like 25 SPARTANs dropped down from the dropship to hit dirt at the battle of reach and I'm willing to bet my life that you're playing as some of those. Not as a fabled "second class".

well, who you think you are? there are more than 50 guys working on Bungie, you think they all get mistaken and you are right?

and how do you know who are the Spartans?? have you seen the future or something??

really your thoughts doesn't make sense you know nothing about this game, like all of us, and you already think that Bungie maked a mistake? are you c**zy???

please Bungie nuke this forum!! NOW!!!!

You can plainly see (Right) somebody is holding a hunting knife. Fred used a hunting knife, and he was the biggest. In the picture, you can plainly see that he is the 2nd smallest. And Bungie is making it off the originals Spartans. They made av mistake, making Sam the biggest. Also, you fail at grammar.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Who officially said they were even Spartans?

Why don't people understand love
:CCCCCCCCCCC

First of all "Fred"(if it actually i him) could be stood at the back. And secondly Sam is actually the biggest (apparently) I didn't get too far in the book and it's been a while since I've read it. So I went to Halopedia for confirmation.

http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Samuel-034

It clearly says "He was by far the closest thing to a best friend to MCPO John-117. Noticeably the LARGEST SPARTAN-II of them ALL". I could be wrong but it's on halopedia. But this is only wild speculation in the first place. For all we know it might not even be them. It could be the spartans from the trailer (259, 320).

LIES! Everybody knows that Bungie never makes mistakes!

In all seriousness though, Bungie probably doesn't keep such close tabs on its authors. They are just money gathering appendages after all.

Actual, it's the opposite. Bungie works really close with the authors to make sure the books are cool with the Halo canon. In an interview with Eric Nylon who wrote a few of the Halo novels, he talked about how he was given the "Halo Story Bible" to check his work and make sure it matched Halo canon story.

Further, all the story in the books is canon and none of it contradicts the content from the games, and visa versa.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

ilovebees arguably isn't cannon since Bungie had nothing to do with it (Like the Halo 3 "Believe" Campaign).

I know that not all of it is canon, but Bungie has stated that parts of it would be accepted into the Halo canon.

And what about the second part of my question? If there were only 150 original candidates, where do Sierra 259 and 320 fit in?

You assume the numbers are their identification numbers. Just because MC has 117 and there are 3 numbers and there are 3 numbers on 259 and 320, doesn't mean you can say for certain that they are the identification numbers for Spartans. You can't just assume that there was another Spartan II program. Also the Spartans identification numbers don't have to be in numerical order (001, 002, 003).

So? Bungie can still include Sam into the game.

Life is not a journey to the grave, with the intension of arriving safely.

I havent read the books, so i skipped over some of these posts, but it seems the orgiginal argument was based on height... has it occurred to anone that you can see the silhouette of their feet, and therefore they might not be standing in a straight line. therefore you cannot realy determin their height..?

On Waypoint I'm rocketFox;

A brand new set of Spartan-IIs would make sense as it allows Bungie to retell the story of the Fall of Reach without anyone knowing exactly how it will end and without interfering with the storylines of the novel. If we assume the roles of the Spartans defending Reach on the ground then we know exactly what happens to them, which kind of takes the mystery and suspense out of the storyline methinks.

It may not necessarily fit into the canon, not yet anyway, but I can't see any reason why a second class of Spartan-IIs couldn't exist. I know there is a load of Halsey/Ackerson stuff that suggests that the second class was shut down before it began but who knows? The UNSC is a big place.

Gotta love the irony in this post anyway how can you tell who the people in the banner are? Also in the books it never said Fred was the tallest so please for the sake of the forums stfu.

Rule 6: Respect the Admins

“It’s their website, and they can do whatever the hell they like with it. You’re a guest, and hassling them about how they run things is akin to going round your Auntie’s house and curling one out in her tea-pot.”

I think you're just retarded.

I thought they said Sam was the largest in Fall of Reach, the next time they speak of him after their augmentation procedure. Not that that means much in the sake of this arguement.
