of cource there should be, but it would work best if it was based on one of the books (The Fall of Reach anybody?) but it shouldn't be done as a live action, that would cost too much. anime is cheap and you can add some things in there that,if put into a live-action, would make it look cheesy. CG would also work out quite nicely (especially if they mixed the CG and the Anime in different scenes, like maby in space its CG, but on the ground it was anime)

I think it should be a live action set, but the main characters that ppl would remember from Halo that dont wear armor, Sargeant Johnson, for example, would be computer generated. They can make orcs look real in LOTR, so why couldnt they make a computer generated person look real? Then they could make him just like he was in the game. Bungie would have to make the computer generated people though, and Cortana, and aliens. Also, the voices for at least the main charcters would have to be the same as in Halo, another reason why main characters are computer generated. Theyd just use something like the Nightmare Armor for MC. As long as Bungie creates the storyline and picks the actors for characters(or designs them), I think this would be the perfect Halo movie series(they couldnt fit all of that story into 2 to 3 hours).

I refer you to my previous statements

what better way for bungie to make even more money off the halo fanchise than by liscensing out movie rights. they could right a plot and basic script, send it off to some CG animation studio, like the one for final fantasy, and make a movie. good or not, they already have an audience base of every person that has owned, owns, or is planning on owning an xbox. over a million people on xbox live alone, not to mention the vast majority of halo players who are not connected to live, i mean that is the entire under 30 male population of the US, not to mention all of the girlfriends, parents, or whomever that dont play halo but will see the movie with their loved ones. Heck, bungie doesnt even have to do any work at all, and there is not going to be a halo 3, so what better time to liscense all of the halo characters and sell them off to another company that would make a movie?

Yes I think a halo movie or movies could be done. First of all, it would have to be a trillogy; Movie 1=fall of reach- this would show John growing up in training, his first mission, his first encounter with covenant, a big space battle u name it; it would have it all. Movie 2=Halo the game + the flood + first strike. This movie could also have everything a sweet action movie has to offer. And finally movie 3 would be Halo 2 (obviously depending on what is in this game). These movie would have character development, action, thought provoking storylines, and an already there guarantee that it will make money; Halo has a giant support of fans who will see the movie whether or not it sucks.

Responding to some ideas i heard; number 1 a CG movie would SUCK. I hate CG. It would have to be "live action." These movies could be like The Matrix accept with 3 awesome movies instead of just 1. Who cares if MC in the game doesnt sound exactly the same as it would in the movie? If the covie alliens being blown away by rocket launcher warthogs isnt enuf for you to get a
"Halo aura" then go get a life. All you do is get someone like Vin Diesel to play MC, and of course the Sgt. Johnson character would kick ass and provide comic relief. I think they should try a halo movie trillogy.

Halo has to be in CG It will be alot cooler. Trust me I've seen lots of animated series turned into LIVE ACTION and they STUNK. You would start out and say. "WTH? THAT'S CPTN. KEYES? " and plus the covenant would look weird. even if they were computarized.

You do know that theres a halo movie in the works, right? Its in the new XBN issue. The one for september that is page 032. The cover has Oddworld: Stranger on it. The page says, and I quote : "Cementing its status as the surefire blockbuster of the year, Microsoft's ace in the hole-Halo 2-is currently making it's big screen debut. Joining the illustrious ranks of such console releases as SquareSoft's Final fantasy XII, Crystal Chronicles, and electronic Arts' Legobased Bionicle, Halo 2 is getting the topbill treatment, with a special theatrical trailer being screened in more than 1,500 loews Cineplex theatres.

Theres also more, but its a long atricle. Im not sure if this means its just a trailer for Halo 2 or if its a real movie. If its a trailer, then sorry to waste your time.

This is how it would be if I were to make a Halo movie.

First, I would make it Live Action. Yes, Live Action. Why you ask? Well, because working with actors would be easier than spending 5 years or more on CGI and millions of dollars (Final Fantasy anyone?). I would film The Fall Of Reach first and then Halo and so on and so on.

Second, I would work as close to Bungie as possible. They know their game better than anyone and I wouldn't want Bungie to be mad if the movie was poor because I hadn't consulted them.

Third, I wouldn't make the Covies CGI. I would make them animatronic as well as a suit for an actor to wear like in the Alien films. Why? Because I think it looks better to have something for the other actors to look at instead of them looking in their general direction. I just like suits better than CGI.

Fourth, I would direct the film myself because I would know what to do with it or I would have James Cameron direct it if he agreed to it. James Cameron loves Scifi stuff and he knows how to direct it very well.

Lastly, I would make sure I have a good actor to be Master Chief maybe the voice actor since you wouldn't see him anyway. I would also have the MC armor from Nightmare Armor in the movie because they look awesome. I would also get a contract so they would make all the suits for the film including the Covie ones. That would be awesome.

To LegatoBluesummer:
I would do live action as well. But look at Lord of the Rings. I thinks there was about 10 real people playing as orcs in the battle of helms deep. So I think it would work very well if they did the same thing in a halo movie, if ever created. And actors do what they do best, act. They don't need something look at.

Have any of you ever contemplated this before? NO ANIME. DO NOT defile the Halo series with your -blam!-, retarded, UGLY anime.
Besides, what the hell would be the point? Ooooh anime MC look at his big eyes and pumpkin head that you can't even see becuase of his armor!

I voted , dont care. Yes it woud be cool to see a movie. It shoud be CG with all and i mean all the same actors for the voice overs. Im just scared that Hollywood will screw it over like they tend to do :( If they do make a movie I pray to GOD that its not a flop. Something like this could put a bad taste in some peoples' mouths.

AHHHH! STOP IT WITH THE HOLLYWOOD GARBAGE. HOLLYWOOD WOULDNT DO -blam!- TO THE MOVIE, BECAUSE BUNGIE IS IN COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE TRANSFERING TO A DIFFERENT MEDIA OF THE HALO FRANCHISE. IF THE MOVIE SUCKED, IT WOULD BE BUNGIES FAULT, NOT HOLLYWOOD'S. BUNGIE HAS STATED BEFORE THAT MICROSOFT HAS GIVEN THEM CONTROL OVER THIS IP. MEANING THAT IF A MOVIE WAS MADE, BUNGIE AND NO ONE ELSE, WOULD DECIDE ON SCRIPT, ACTORS, DIRECTORS, ETC.! AND YOU OUT THERE CALLING FOR CG OR ANIME MOVIES, KEEPP DREAMING! YOU WANT TO HAVE BUNGIE LOSE MILLIONS TO CATER TO YOUR MINORITY TASTES? NO. BESIDES, THERE ARE PLENTY OF GREAT (LIVE ACTION) SCI FI MOVIES OUT THERE, HALO WOULD JUST MAKE ANOTHER ONE. SO QUIT -blam!-ING ABOUT IRRELEVANT CRAP! for more reasons why a halo movie could and would KICK ASS, check my other two posts on page seven.

oh yea an i forgot to mention but bungie has had plenty of offers on the halo ip for movie production. none of them bungie has bitten on yet, (that i know of), but that just goes to show you, if you couldnt tell already, that bungie cares enough about halo and its fans that they wouldn disappoint us with a -blam!- movie.

Hello all of you movie predicters. There is a way to make a halo movie without sticking vin Diesel in it.has anyone ever thought of "Computer graphics"? Now, one of the best game-films was Final Fantasy (One of my personal favorates). This movie was all computer generated (maybe with some motion capture in it). Lets compare this to Tomb Raider or Super Mario Bros. which both sucked. Lets go back to halo. Now we dont have to hire people to hide in grunt or elite costumes, and things would seem more futuristic. Of course, the movie grapics would look nothing like the game graphics. For all of you folks who have seen the final fantasy movie, you know the graphics are nothing like toy story. And there you have it: the perfect way to make a halo movie.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention that the halo movie shoud be a series of a few movies kinda like the alien series goes Move ONE: would be kinda like fall of reach but have a better intro to the halo universe: explain why theres space travel and maybe some forerunner stuff . The next halo movie would be like HALO 1 only with some more covenant stuff, next Halo 2 but also first strike in it and so on and so forth.

first off you've gotta realize that cg movies (besides finding nemo and other kid geared flicks) are a practical guarantee for money losing. im all for it as an art form but i think that the best way to go is live action. the main benefit of a movie would be the opportunity for realism that the medium presents. like ive sed before (check page seven), they could stick a BIG guy in the mjolnir, and use the game voice. simple as that, the other marines are easily pulled off and -blam!-. cortana would be cg of course, so no voice change. the covies could be done easily too, just find character designers with half a brain and some talent, and of course bungie would help throughout the production process so that would help tremendously. im tellin you people, live action is the way to go.

I think that a CG movie is definitely the only way to go. It would be almost impossible to simulate Halo accurately by doing a normal film. Master Chief is roughly 8 feet tall and so are all the Elites, not to mention the fact that there are other Covenant such as Grunts, Jackals, Brutes and Prophets (and what about those Flood thingies that explode and have more Flood thingies that explode come out?). Besides that, there wouldn't be any way to really make all the weapons and vehicles in the movie exactly like the game. Like the needler for example. There is also the subject of voice talent. I don't think that Joseph Staten (the writer and cinematics director) would feel comfortable in a Grunt suit so they would have to get actors and make models of Covenant and Flood that move and look alive and that would cost a lot of money. The cast of Halo's voice talent is great and if it were to change to actors it just wouldn't be the same. This way, the people that make the game could also make the movie(and who better to do it than the people who already design the story, music and script for the game). Everyone at Bungie Studios is talented in what they do like graphics, audio, voice talent, etc. I would definitely like to see CG movies based on the Halo books like The Fall of Reach and First Strike (especially if they follow the books accurately). It would be cool to see a Halo movie compete with the CG movie of Final Fantasy: Advent Childeren. Besides, I really can't think of any films that were based on games that turned out that great like Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and does anyone remember Mario Brothers? It was terrible and to see a game like Halo be turned into a terrible movie would be insulting.

of course it would be insulting, almost as insulting as the thought you have pertaining to staten in a grunt suit. you do realize that all they would have to do is put the voice to the grunt in afterwards, just like they did in the game. besides that there would be a huge amount of cg in the movie anyway, but all in all a completely cg movie would be more time consuming and possibly more expensive than a live action flick. you ppl have to realize that what makes a movie suck isnt whether its live action or cg, its the talent thats involved with it. production value, actors, direction, and of course visuals. these are the things that determine the overall believability of a situation. and like ive been saying forever, but no one seems to understand, cg movies (ones not geared at kids) dont make that much money. everyone keeps singing the praises of ff:thsw, but the fact of the matter is it had painfully slow plot progression, and the characters just didn provide that humanity needed to connect with them on an emotional level. and besdies that, it was a complete box office disaster. where these problems because it was a cg movie? no they go back to writing, directing, etc. LIVE ACTION IS THE WAY TO GO!!!

I think that CG is the worst thing that has happened to live action movies. CG is fantasic when it's applied completely to a movie, but when CG characters are acting alongside live action it looks terrible, and I wish the industry would go back to animatronics when it came to the likes of Yoda. The attack of the clones Yoda was obviously CG, unlike the 80's animatronics Yoda which looked totally real because it really was a furry puppet. Obviously this would be impossible for Halo characters, they would have to be CG, but why put real actors in the place of the few skinbearing humans that would appear in the movie. Why not make the whole thing CG?
