And as a side note I think vin diesel would be innapropriate for MC in a live action movie. He doesn't even show his face, so why not just include his original voice actor in after some stunt guy has gotten in the armor and acted everything out.

If it were up to me, I wouldn't agree to the filming of a Halo movie. There are so many chances that the whole project would screw up. Although I have extreme faith in Bungie, and the final product of the movie may be appealing, it wouldn't be able please the whole Halo community. Already, there is a visible distinction between the people who want the movie CGI/Anime and the people who want it Live Action.

However, if the movie idea were accepted by Bungie, I'd like it to be CGI. Also, I'd find it really interesting if the beginning introduction were narrated by The Guardians (introduction being the mood and setting of the Halo Universe and the Covenant/Human war). That'd be pretty badass.

I'd have to agrre with those other anti cgi people. Making a cgi moviewould be pointless Bungie might as well make a new game. Also the fact that it's cgi makes it look like a game. and the fun a halo is, that every time you play it different stuff will happen, like you can lose no marines on time and thy all die the next. but in a halo movie, the action is always the same. Only if it was on the books i would pay my 7.50 to watch it. But i do like the idea of having the gaurdians talking in the beggining.

I think that CG is the worst thing that has happened to live action movies. CG is fantasic when it's applied completely to a movie, but when CG characters are acting alongside live action it looks terrible, and I wish the industry would go back to animatronics when it came to the likes of Yoda. The attack of the clones Yoda was obviously CG, unlike the 80's animatronics Yoda which looked totally real because it really was a furry puppet. Obviously this would be impossible for Halo characters, they would have to be CG, but why put real actors in the place of the few skinbearing humans that would appear in the movie. Why not make the whole thing CG?

if they can pull off characters like the alien and predator, they can do elites and grunts and so forth. nuff sed.

be that with cg, animatronics, a combination of both (which it would be if they did this thing), or a guy in a suit, it could be done and it could be done well. now, nuff sed.

There should be a Halo movie, I mean I watch that Halo 2 demo trailer ALL the time on my big screen. So they should make a Halo movie after Halo 2 comes out so the Movie would have all the books and games into 1 Movie I would Love it

a Halo movie would be good, but in my opinion it would have serious problems if the halo storyline continues past halo 2 (pleaseopleaseoplease) because as a general rule most (NOT ALL) movie sequels turn out to just SUCK. (shrek 2) so they would have to either wait until the halo story was finished and sell a movie 3 times longer than Titanic, or work really, really, really hard on a sequel that was up to par. now, dont get me wrong i think bungie and whatever rich holly wood company decides to back them could easily make an outstanding sequel, but they would have to be careful. because if they make a mistake, then we have on our hands a movie that ruins the magic of the games and books.

p.s.- i sincerely apologize to any one who enjoyed shrek 2. my views are purely coincidental so please dont send me dumb hate mail. : )

Yes the guardians comes up once in a while when you are playing multiplayer but im sorry i dont know why it is a mystery to me but you are not alone

that power comes from the fact that youre the one in control of the game. so the ONLY WAY IN HELL THAT WOULD WORK IS IF YOU TOOK A CONTROLLER TO THE THEATER! BY THAT LOGIC EVERY MOVIE EVER MADE MUST SUCK. ppl, stop and think that it would be just another movie except it happens to be about halo. you cant keep comparing videogames to movies. theyre two completely different mediums. tell me why you think a good halo movie couldnt be done and ill tell you what kind of idiot you are.

oh and the killed by the guardians thing is the result of a tie. if 2 or more players kill each other at the exact same time, it gives it to the guardians.

Guys listen... There should be a Halo movie becasue it would rock! here's the first reason: Halo is perhaps the best game on teh planet and yes it has been voted the best game on earth and if there was word of a movie being made people would know right away that this movie would be the bomb! tomb Radier did not come out that bad! Ofcourse not! It hit number 1 in U.K. and number 3 in the U.S.A.! People see a movie corrupts the natural name of a game. that's not true...the movie can only corrupt the reputation of Halo if the baisc plot does not match that of the game. We should keep in mind that bungie knows what it's doing. It's all about innovation and with MIcrosofts help bunige might become the biggest game producer and richest one too! Go BUNGIE TEAM! Second thing is that the world knows that Halo is a really awesome game and the plot to it's game is outstanding! No doubt about that! So the thing is that people WILL want to buy the film or movie. PLus bungie and microsoft have such studios that working with digital enhancment and reall actors is no problem at all. I'll write mpre about the Halo movie later! AND WHAT I THINK AND WHAT TEH WORLD SHOULD SEE IN BUNGIE.

yes their shud be a halo movie, but no vin diesle init. (so..computer graphics - like anime, or the really cool start of final fantasy movie., but the end was pants! )
so, like final fantasys start, (middle>) terminator 2 - instopable force kinda feelin'. and a predator endin- where the whole battle field gets nuked. (but with better special effects,- and no arnie either. too old)
the voices shud be very good, done by the dude who actually does the voice, or christian bale shud do it, (hes mint).

Can't decide who would be better for a live action halo movie, Vin Diesel or some nobody

  • 08.12.2004 11:49 AM PDT

50-Team Slayer
i HaZ rEcOn

I side with him if they don't make a halo movie no biggy. The graphics on the games will soon be like movies anyway and an interactive movie is better than one where the plot is already laid out

Check this out:

HALO: THE MOVIE

SCREENPLAY WRITTEN BY
Kellen Squire

OPENING CREDITS ROLL OVER COMPLETE BLACKNESS. IN THE BACKGROUND, THOUGH, WE CAN HEAR NOISES - SHIPS TALKING TO EACH OTHER (OVER SOFT HALO-ESQUE MUSIC- A GREGORIAN CHANT? LIKE IN THE HALO OPENING THEME?)

VOICE 1

Uhh, this is the UNSC Authority... we're picking up something strange on our sensors...

VOICE 2

Roger that, Authority, please keep us-

VOICE 1

Oh my God! It's the Covenant! Hundreds- STATIC.

VOICE 2

Authority? Authority, are you there?

VOICE 3

This is Captain Jodrell onboard the UNSC Sally Ride! Covenant! Covenant everywhere! Reach is under attack!

VOICE 4

Attention, all United Nations forces- this is Admiral Roland Freemont. Reach has come under attack by Covenant forces. Proceed at best speed to rally point Zulu. All ships must inact the Cole Protocol immediately. I repeat-

VOICE 5

(Young) Enact the Cole Protocol? We won't be able to find Earth again!

FOR THE NEXT MINUTE OR TWO, AS THE OPENING CREDITS ROLL, WE CAN HEAR THE RADIO SIGNALS FROM A PTICHED BATTLE. DURING THE BATTLE, WE COME TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE PLANET BEING ATTACKED IS CALLED "REACH". WE HEAR FROM THE COVENANT ONCE DURING THIS TIME, THEIR STANDARD "YOUR DESTRUCTION IS THE WILL OF THE GODS" SPEECH, WHICH IS IMMEDIATELY HECKLED AT BY UNSC FORCES. BEFORE LONG, REACH HAS FALLEN. ALL UNSC SHIPS ARE ORDERED TO FALL BACK. WE CLOSE THIS INTERLUDE WITH...

VOICE 6

This is Captain Jacob Keyes of the UNSC Pillar of Autumn- we're falling back. Generating random jump vector- we won't lead them back to Earth.

CREDITS END. BLACKNESS REMAINS FOR A FEW SECONDS MORE.

SCREEN FADES BACK INTO COLOR. SHOWS OUTER SPACE- SCREEN IS FILLED WITH STARS. MUSIC OPENS, THE SAME AS IN THE OPENING CINEMATIC OF THE GAME.

CAPTAIN KEYES' VOICE

Cortana, all I want to know is-

CORTANA's VOICE

Did we lose them? I think we both know the answer to that.

THE STARFIELD BLURS, AND A LARGE SHIP ENTERS THE CAMERA FRAME, OUTLINED BY A GAS GIANT- THRESHOLD. IT IS THE "Pillar of Autumn", WHICH WE CAN SEE STENCILED ON THE SIDE.

THE SHIP CRUISES THROUGH THE FRAME FOR A FEW SECONDS, BEFORE WE CUT TO THE BRIDGE. THE BRIDGE IS A VERY HIGH-TECH AND BUSY PLACE- TECHNICIANS RUN ABOUT, CREW MEMBERS ARE MANNING HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY CONSOLES, TWO GUNNER'S MATES ARE MANNING THE MAC GUN TURRET.

CHARACTERS
- CAPTAIN JACOB KEYES
- CORTANA
- BRIDGE CREWMEMBERS (10-17, MALE AND FEMALE)
- MAC GUN OPERATORS (2)
- MARINE GUARD? (2-3)
NOTES:

- MAKE SURE PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THEIR BLOCKING- WE DON'T WANT THEM TO ACCIDENTLY HAVE THEIR FINGERS POP THROUGH THE SPACE WHERE THEIR DISPLAYS WILL BE, IF WE DECIDE TO DO HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAYS

-MAKE THE CREW HAVE SOME SORT OF WEARY TENSION- 30 YEARS OF WAR IS A LONG TIME, AND REACH HAS JUST BEEN DESTROYED- THEY SHOULD BE ANTSY, BUT MAINTAINING THEIR PROFESSIONAL MANNER
BLOCKING-

BRIDGE IS IN A RECTANGULAR SHAPE. THERE IS A CORRIDOR RUNNING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF IT, CONTAINING A CORRIDOR RUNNING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF IT.

BRIDGE- APPROXIMATELY FIFTY TO SIXTY FEET LONG, AND THIRTY OR SO WIDE. SHAPED THUSLY:

C= COMMAND CONSOLE, WHERE CREW SIT TO WORK ON WHATEVER THEIR STATION DOES. HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAYS?
G= GUN CREW
AI= CORTANA
K= KEYES
ROOM IS APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 12 FEET HIGH AS WELL.

THE CAMERA FINALLY CENTERS ON A MAN WITH HIS BACK TO THE CAMERA. HE APPEARS TO BE IN HIS FIFTIES, WITH GRAY HAIR, BUT IN GOOD SHAPE. HE TURNS TO TALK TO SOMEONE BEHIND THE CAMERA. HE IS CAPTAIN JACOB KEYES.

CAPTAIN KEYES

We made a blind jump... how did they-

CAMERA ANGLE WHIRLS. WE SEE CORTANA, IN HER SHIMMERING OPPULENCE, PROJECTED FROM A HOLOPROJECTOR IN FRONT OF CAPTAIN KEYES. BEHIND HER, WE CAN SEE INTO THE DEPTH OF SPACE.

CORTANA

Get here before us? Captain Keyes, the Covenant have always been faster than us. And as for tracking us all the way from Reach, at lightspeed, my maneuvering options were limited.

CAPTAIN KEYES PACES THE BRIDGE FOR A MOMENT. HE WALKS UP BEHIND A CREWMAN WHO IS LOOKING AT A HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY OF SOME SORT, LOOKING OVER THE CREWMAN'S SHOULDER.

CAPTAIN KEYES

We were running dark, yes?

CORTANA

Yes, sir, until we decellerated. *No one* could have missed the hole we tore in subspace.

CAPTAIN KEYES SIGHS, AND STANDS UP. HE BEGINS TO PACE THE BRIDGE.

CORTANA

The Covenant are on the far side of the planet, sir. They were waiting for us. There was nothing you could do.

CAPTAIN KEYES WAVES A HAND IN A DISMISSAL GESTURE.

CAPTAIN KEYES

Where do we stand?

CORTANA

Our fighters are mopping up their recon picket right now.

CAPTAIN KEYES NODS. CORTANA CONTINUES.

CORTANA

But I've isolated approach signatures from multiple CCS-class battlegroups... make it... three or four capital ships per group. And in about, oh, ninety seconds they'll be all over us.

CAPTAIN KEYES SIGHS LOUDLY.

CAPTAIN KEYES

Well, that's it, then. Bring the ship back up to Combat Alert Alpha. I want everyone at their stations.

CORTANA

Aye, aye, sir... everyone?

CAPTAIN KEYES

Everyone. Oh- and Cortana?

CORTANA

Hmmm?

CAPTAIN KEYES

Let's give our old friends a warm welcome.

CORTANA SMILES APPROVINGLY.

CORTANA

I've already begun.

CAMERA PANS OUT OF BRIDGE, TO OUTLINE THE PILLAR OF AUTUMN AGAINST THE STARS. THE CAMERA THEN SHIFTS ANGLES UPWARD, UNTIL WE SEE... A GIANT, INTERGALATIC HULA HOOP.

AT THIS POINT, THE SCENE SUDDENLY SHIFTS TO A PYSCHADELICALLY-COLORED ROOM. THE SONG "NO RAIN" BY BLIND MELON SUDDENLY BEGINS TO PLAY. GIVE THE SONG A FEW SECONDS TO LEAD IN, AND THE MASTER CHIEF AND AN ELITE COMMANDER DANCE- NO, MAKE THAT PRANCE... SKIP, EVEN... INTO THE ROOM, AND BEGIN TO DANCE WITH EACH OTHER.

MASTER CHIEF

(singing) All I can say is that my life is pretty plain I like watching the puddles gather, rain

ELITE COMMANDER

(singing) Rrrr rrwow grrr rerrrr rreerrrr rrrrwwow Grrrrrreeaarrreerrrrrwow

(translation- And all I can do is just pour some tea for two And speak my point of view, but it's not sane)

MASTER CHIEF AND ELITE COMMANDER

It's not sane... (Rrrrraaaoww)

THE SCREEN GOES BLACK WITH A GIANT RECORD-CUTOFF NOISE. BEFORE LONG, THE FOLLOWING FLASHES ONTO THE SCREEN:

ERROR 932.2- WRITER EXPERIENCING ACID TRIP. ABORT, RETRY, FAIL, LOOK AT THE SWIRELY COLORS?

Yeah, I think they should make a Halo movie LOTR style. They should really take a long time working on it and spend tons of money on it. Maybe even have Peter Jackson direct it?
But, no I don't think they should have Vin Diesel do the voice or anthying in the movie for that matter. They should use all the voices from the game. But, I guess they could have mc traveling with other Spartans like in one of the books(I don't remember which). I would only like to see it if it was well done.(And no romance stuff.)
