The Japanese make way better movies than Americans. Unless Steven Speilburg made the Halo movie. And if John Woo ever mentions "Halo" and "movie" in the same sentence I want him chained to a cellar.

What if it never when to Hollywood? What if Bungie did all the animations hired a directore that they could slap on the back of the head and say "No bad" if he gets out of line and wants a nude cortana or some thing. The movie would be great if it was in Bungies hands.

I agree with the guy talking about alien. Its live atcion and the aliens look real as hell. Except for the queenie alien, that was weird. all you need is some guys in suits that camove like aliens. the vioce can be done later on.

Yeah see. This guy knows what i'm talkin about. If it was done very carefully, it could be great! BUT. It has to be the cast from the second ALIEN. the sergeant in that was badass.

What would be more cost effective? I mean you would have to hire a lot of people to do a live action movie; actors, actresses, costume designers, set designers, artists, sculptors, all sorts of stuff. But CG is extremely expensive. Anime, I hope doesn't happen so I'm not even going to consider it. Yes, Microsoft has a lot of mopney but I'm sure even billy limits what he gives away. There's one question that should be asked... What are better?

Digitized explosions or real explosions?

ok after reading through a couple pages and hearing ideas from fellow fanatics of Halo i think it would make a great CG movie, actually i think it would be the only way to represent Halo in all its glory. Think about it a live action movie would be nice but, you wouldnt be able to represent characters in the game as well and yes agreeing with many of you if you hand it to hollywood they f**k it up big time. Bungie should either produce the movie themselves or get help from sony and/or other companies that have CG films that have stood the test of time. On the other side of the arguement I would believe that Vin Disel would be the best live action representation of the MC(Just my opinion). On the lighter side some of you are completly insane about casting the movie in anime. there is no way possible to dipict a game such as this as an anime it just doesnt have the attributes it needs to be one. I think the best way to go would be a CG film because of these facts:

1. it would be a kickass looking movie with great special effects.

2. like several other posties have made there point as to the voice casting could be kept the same as it would be in game. couldnt do that in a live action movie.

3. it alrdy has 3 books and a game storyline behind it just get more in depth on the books and you can maybe 3 movies at best 4 would pushing it.

so there you have it my 2 cents worth of mind numbing info or just bulls**t you decide.

later all !!!!!

what if after all this excitment there is no movie, i mean the game itself still attracks more and more people, and there is quite a few non-fans of the movie idea. halo 2 is gonna be the game of the year, the shelf is gonna be clean of copies the second day if not the first, what i am trying to say is that people are going to be interested in the game itself not the movie.

Ok yeah people will be interested in the game this year, but when the heat dies down, bungie will probably be one of the richest compaies in the world. so a Liove action done right without hollywood would kick ass. Oh yeah, anime would suck.

but who would the cast be, the people who did the voices couldn't possibly be the right characters. and you would have to find a -blam!- lode of people to play the marines and the covenant, i think cg would be awesome. but thats just me.

Yeah, I think that making Halo an Anime would be a travesty... One of the reasons I like Halo is because it is an all American game, no imports, no dubs, no translating.

Ok yeah we could just use really tall guys in elite suites and digitally enhance them, and we could just have a really tall guy play Mc and we couyld just use the voices of charecters. As for the marines, it could easily be done. we could use the cast of ALIEN 2 . see, easy. But some of the movie could be CG.

but there is alot of elites and alot of marines, we would either have to make the entire cast real or just make the covenant cg, either way its alot of work

you do have a point there, and now that you mention it, all the covenant CG would be cool. A lot of the enviroment could be CG too. good thinking.

wow dude...you guys...i heard about a halo movie coming out november 9th, they call it "halo 2" and the movie is actually interactive! like you control what goes on and stuff...my point is, halo is a game destined to stay that way, no movie.

FINALLY... Someone sees sense and doesn't just submit to the masses and say "we love Halo, let's totally ruin it with some crappy, generic movie" a movie would adulterate Halo. It's really shocking the amount of people that would ruin Halo. Movies just dont do the material justice. Jetblack is right and so are the other 100-odd people who are against the movie. Anyone give a thought to let Bungie say anything yet?
NO HALO MOVIE!!!!

wait, there is the concept of the placement, if the cast were real, then were would they film it. if they built a scene that would be exteremely expensive also, and they don't have floating ships and what not in real life. once again, it would be alot of hard work.

Finish The Fight

The movie would bomb. I know it seems like everyone plays Halo, but they don`t. Nobody would know what it was about, it wouldn`t make any money, and it would go straight to video
so i would have to say no

If they made a movie i think it would def. have to go along w/ the book. maybe a FALL OF REACH movie would be pretty good. Although i would definetly see it i still have a little voice in the back of my mind saying that it would suck. I mean im a huge halo fan but i dont think a movie would be the best thing. but as i said if there would be any movie it should def. be about John and his growing up as in THE FALL OF REACH!

or itll take a Star Wars turn and first make the last few years of the MC and then make his childhood. However can you honestly say anyone should risk making a halo movie? And anyway theyll only ruin it and then some geeks will be pointing out 'movie mistakes' in it and some other technical crap compared to the game blah blah blah lets not ruin hlo. its special and if we made it more special we'd ruin it because we made it too special if you catch my drift

I think everyone one in this forum has valid points but they have to remember a couple things

1- bungie is almost definetly far from done with halo so for there to be any chace for a movie and it to be good they would either have to be done with the series and make it a conclusion or tell part of the story that hasn't been told yet. Because nobody in the 21st century wants to see something that they did themselves.

2-There is also this whole debate about what type of movie it should be. you could go with the most obvious meaning live action but that would almost definetly the worst visual outcome, then theres anime and although anime is sick as all hell it just doesnt seem to be the right way to go. Finally there is cg which personally i think is the best idea because it is the closest to the style of art the game is already in. Also since it would be hopefully i high budget movie with the help of microsoft the art would be smoother sound clearer and all around enjoyabilty bumbed up a notch. We all know that the first time we saw the halo in game demonstration, or the trailer on the special edition disks we wanted to wet ourselfs. A movie could do just that

there should be but only if it is made well. so many other games have fallen victom to a bad movie, house of the dead, mario bros, mortal combat, and countless others

A Halo movie could definatly be done. Just very carefully. It can't ba a low budget piece a crap. I think half, live action( people, marines. ect.) and the other half CG( Covies, ships, enhancement, ect.) thats just my opinion though.
