I think it would be awsome! But i do agree with some of you people. It would have to be all set up by Bungie. I would hate it if anything was done by any other then aome1 that was working on Halo/2.

Instead of making halo in to an live action movie they should Film the Movie like Final Fantasy the spirtits within. Get the same Software characters from the game and the same people that did the voice and Make a movie out of that

They should make a movie with the exact same animation the Halo 2 Cutscenes are of (like the E3 2003 demo). You just couldnt do covenant and the ships and everything in live action or it'll be another Starship troopers (the one good part was when they were in the outpost mowing down bugs).

The first movie should be near identical the the book Fall of Reach, because that book was so awesome, with them training and everything, the augmentation...*shivers*.

As said before, as long as no f*ed up romance got thrown in it, and characters werent f*ed with, it'd be an awesome movie

I agree with most of the people her, no romance, no hollywierd, not in toon form, no seeing MC's face, and made by Bungie. This could be a good movie that makes halo even more liked or It could make it hated by the movie turning out bad. tHey should make it in this order TFOR, The flood, First strike, Halo2, and anything that might come after that.

If they do a movie (which would be a good idea) Bungie should have complete 143% control over ALL aspects. CG would give it that Halo feel but live action would be good if they had decent actors. There should be NO love story and Cortana should stay INSIDE the helmet. For Cortana and MC since you never see there face SAME VO's. There should be huge epic battles that wind down to MC stick the remaining covies or flood (or new guys!?). And of course, there should be a compelling story line like the games.

I think a halo movie would be great! If there is one it should be live action.I also agree that the Master Chief should be like Darth Vader...Being a guy in a costume with another guy (hopfully the person who plays the Master Chiefs voice in Halo) speaking for him.The director should get some really talented alien designers for creating the covenant.Possibly the designers from Independence Day and Starship Troopers. It should also follow the story-line from the games i.e. Brutes dont appear until Halo 2.

actually, if they did it right, they could probably make a really good movie. seriously, they made great books out of the game, just think if they got all the people like eric nylund and stuff to write the script or something, just as long as people who really know halo is involved with the project is there to guide them. game movies dont always have to suck!!instead of thinking about how crappy it could be, just imagine how good it could be!!

  • 08.09.2004 6:21 PM PDT

If a movie is ever made, please, please DO NOT BEN AFFLECK in it. He ruins every movie or thing he does. Gigli, Sum of All Fears, Dare Devil, JLO, Pearl Harbor, etc... Can you imagine what he could do to something really cool like a Halo movie? think about it. Anyone at Bungie seriously contemplating a movie please heed this warning!

I think they should make a halo movie but base it on the books because a lot of good movies have been made out of books.

I think it should be a CG movie with Vin Diesel as the voice of Master Chief and little kids for the voices of Grunts and stuff like that

i dont think they can make a good halo movie without messing up the way the games are like for example they would have to make master chief talk more and that would mess up his character. I WOULD LIKE HIM TO TALK MORE! but it would mess up his character.

A Halo movie would be AWESOME! But the graphics would have to be superb to really make it worthwhile sence Halo is all about space battles and aliens etc. Of course the Lord of the Rings proved all of this is possible. But who would direct it the right way? Peter Jackson? Oliver Stone? I couldnt say but still with the modern power of todays computers and cinematography I think it would be very possible. Acting would also be VERY compicated. Who would play chief? Vin Diesel? The Rock?
Anyways its definetly possible as is everything else but something like that would require a HUGE buget (150-200 Million). But a Halo movie would be bad ass. Hopefully someone in the movie buisness out there hears us.

A Doom movie might work as well :)

I agree with MasterChiefexe, but they should combine parts of the first book with the whole second, and combine first strike with Halo2. It would suck if they threw in a love story, that would ruin it.

Halo movie life would be perfect wouldn't it. I'd watch it over and over and over and.......................................................... ............................................................. ............................................................. .....................................over again. Just thinking about it makes me power hungry.

"lucky one"

OK this is my first post ever, because u guys (the ones who are always posting his comments) ussually have it all said. BUT (and plz don't kill me if u think the idea totally sux) why not make a HALO movie based on the HALO UNIVERSE instead of basing the movie on the book or the games. COME ON, IF THE MASTER CHIEF IS THE MAIN CHARACTER U KNOW HE WONT DIE. I want a halo movie too, but i want to be surprised by the events, and not just go to see something that was infinetely superior the time i played it, or pictured in my mind after reading it. PLUS Master Chief woulndt be a good main character since he cannot express his feelings. Probably he could be in the movie, but the main point of view should belong to someone else. Someone who can express his pain by seeing his ppl being killed by covenants. The main character has to be sum1 vulnerable, some1 who could die because u know he is not important for the rest of the story, and that way everytime there is a fight in the movie u r not 100% sure he will survive. Master Chief could die in the movie, but i would prefer him to die in a game after a freakingly awesome boss battle and sum memorable encrypted events or cinematics right after the credits. Then, the movie should portrait all the horrors of the covenant invasion on earth. Something like Saving private Ryan, but with aliens. In a war that humanity cannot with. The movie could explore the feelings of resigantion of thousand of soldiers being thrown into a war no1 asked for, everybody is obligated to fight, but no1 exactly knows if there is a chance of victory. THEN, WHATS MASTER CHIEFS MOTIVE? i mean, he wants to save earth, but what for? Does he has a family, he has a girlfriend, or he is just a noble guy who will fight for earth cuz he is the only one who can.... that last one is a really noble motive, but it could be hardly protrayed by a director, and it would turn out into a superhero kind of thing (i.e. SUPERMAN). By using other characters the director would have freedom to explore the different motives of every character, and i said every because i wish there wasnt a main character at all, but instead of that, a squad, in which no member is more important than the other, and obviously someone is gonna be sacrifized. The motives of these characters could be family, friends or simply good ol' earth, but by exploring the motives of these characters different faces of the covenant invasion could be told. IMAGINE a movie that actually makes the public take the covenant invasion as serious as the second world war is taken in private ryan or other great movies. I dont want a drama either. I want a lot of action, but nonsense action will screw up this movie. Then, nothing that has not appeared in the videogames or named in the books should be added, and if they do so, it should be approved by bungie. I mean, no super vehicle or super weapon, OR NEW COVENANT RACE that could make a difference should be in the movie. Another thing....NO LOVE DRAMA. With some directors (u know i am talking about u lucas) the movie could lose its focus, and end up being a romance story rather than a war movie. I mean, the priority of these characters is to recover earth so they can continue with their lifes. There is no sense in saving the life of a woman if have no place to love her. I still have many things in my head, but i want to make this short, so my last point is that if the movie is more like a side story, it could be on live action instead of cg and that way the focus would be on the plot instead of the eye candy. FF: The Spirits Within made the mistake of believeing that eye candy would make up for its lack of a consistent plot.
If u guys wanna hear more, ASK ME.
I havent beat halo that many times. I dont own at multiplayer, and I havent read entirely the 2 books, but i appreciatte this franchise, and i wish the HALO MOVIE (if it is made) would follow this guidelines.

This is my first post at the forums, I'll try to make a good impression. ;) Anyways, I think that anime wouldn't be able to really do the movie justice. As much as I love anime, a plasma grenade explosion would just not be the same drawn as it would be in CG. I really enjoyed the Final Fantasy movie, and Advent Children is looking excellent. I can't comment on the story, of course, but the graphics are just amazing. With technology like that, the movie could easily be done in CG. As for voice acting, I don't think Vin Diesel would be the most suitable for this role, mainly because he's known for one liners. I really liked Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick, as well as A Man Apart, but I just don't think he would give the right portrayal of the Master Chief. The Master Chief doesn't speak much, sure, but when he does it's not one liners. So I think Michael Ironside might be better for the part, or even someone completely different. The Halo game story would make an excellent movie, but the suggestion that it be based in the Halo Universe instead seems like it might work better. A lot of people have heard of Halo, and a lot of people already know the story. I would go see a Halo movie just 'cuz it's Halo, but it would be much more exciting to see a completely original Halo movie, like The Fall of Reach or First Strike. I think those would make excellent movies, or maybe even something that happens after Halo2. Who knows? Those are just my thoughts, feel free to flame or compliment and send me money. :)

i agree with cab its to risky for the financial status of bungie but if it went well the income would be fanominal and it makes for a good movie if done right if they do they should base it on the fall of reach for day one to the ring

i think a halo movie would be sweet but if that pile of crap hollywood got its hands on halo they would make cortana kiss more jackels then all of hitlers men. if hollywood did that i would kill them all with rubber bats. my favorite thing too do in halo is to drive a scorpien and blow up bashees and ghosts. a halo movie would do best if bungie did most it what do you think? and why did captin keys have to die in that flood egg thing i mean i liked that guy he was cool man smooth cool and even bader mc riped out his dam face atfer a saw that i couldn"t play halo for 2 HOURS!!! all see you all later i got to go bye from big guns!!!

Hey, the thing about trying to get a movie off the ground from a video game is a pretty long road. For instance, a bunch of people have been trying to get a zelda movie off but no one will listen, they have been trying for about 2 years with little progress.

If Bungie or whoever tried to get a movie going they would need a connection or have their foot in the door... or mabye the popularity of Halo 2 would open thier eyes... ya, that could work, if we made severs entited "we want a halo movie" or something like that.

I don't know, i'm just trowing my ideas in a pile of spikes and seeing what happens. This idea has been thrown around before (somewhere else) and it seemed to have good ideas of what it would be but I think Halo alone could have gotten rights to make a movie off that, but Halo 2 comes out and BOOM!!!

It'll happen sooner or later... I think.

Oh yeah! Big Guns is right, no hollywood!
