Hasn't anyone here seen Jurassic Park? I'm talking about the first one, the one that was the best. Use real life actors for the military people, real life for the Spartans (except for stunts) and real life civilians (Dr. Halsey ^ ^), but CG for the Covenant and the Flood. That would look awsome! I think that if there were a prequal, it should start out with the children being taken from their home planets, to military training and augmentation, following the book all the way to Keyes escaping on the Pillar of Autumn, sort of like after Star Wars 4. Then if there were another movie, it should show the events on Halo, but NOT following the Master Cheif around. We get plenty of action with Master Cheif just playing Halo over and over again (we've all been there). Show McKay, Silva, and Foehammer. Show their stories and what they did on Halo, what they died for. And explain why the Master Cheif did what he had to do- almost anyone who hasn't read the books still doesn't know why he had to find the "Silent Cartographer" or why they were trying to find the "Control Room."

he has a point... perhaps we should get super intelligent monkeys and insects as substitutes for real actors, I mean, some people look like monkeys, you jus gotta use your imagination... plus theyd be a lot cheaper to hire!! (no I aint flamin ya Ropie, it just looked really funny mate)

Just as long as Paul W. Anderson DOES NOT direct the film.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is one of those IMPORTANT things that we must all take heed of. This guy really sucks using other peoples material. The fact that Event Horizon is a rockin' movie is irrelevant... that was original material, RE was not. He had his chance, and he blew it!!

Oh and good evening Ropey if youre still here.

I just realised that Edward Norton would make a perfect Lt Haverson... man, he was just born to play that part! Ultra clean looking, with just a hint of cold menace under the skin... perfect. Plus he can ACT.

I think it should be live action, just so the average person would see it, and it could actually be a big hit, so they could actually make some money, you know?

The movies should be based on the books, and Eric Nylund should co-write the screen play with Quentin Tarantino, who is also directing, and of course, all under the supervision of Bungie.

It could work, it really could.

I've already posted my two cents on the Halo movie in a previous post but I didnt touch on this subject. How about the technicalites of Halo: The Movie? Do you think Bungie would want to invest in such a movie? Does it have enough cash to do this movie but keep up with *shhhh* Halo 3? Or would Microsoft step in and take charge of the money portion of the movie so they could make a profit but also have one of their main developers resume working on one of the greatest games without having to worry about money? If a movie came out and Bungie had to produce it out of its own pocket it would have to be after Halo 3. If Microsoft was by them (which has a very high chance of happening if a movie was in production) then they could start right away after Halo 2.

Here 's a quote from Microsoft's VP of marketing a few days ago. Gamespot interviewed him and this is what he had to say:

"When I look at the numbers right now on a global scale and, in particular, in North America, there is no doubt in my mind that the first 24 hours of Halo 2 will be bigger than the first 24 hours of any movie at box office or music CD. They will pale in comparison. Halo 2 will be the biggest 24 hours in entertainment retail history. This is bigger than video games. It’s a pop culture phenomenon. The anticipation for the November 9 launch is huge. Our retail partners will have thousands of stores open at midnight, with hundreds of thousands of copies snatched up right there."

What I'm looking at specifically is the sentence, "there is no doubt in my mind that the first 24 hours of Halo 2 will be bigger than the first 24 hours of any movie at box office or music CD. They will pale in comparison." If this is true then the launching of Halo 2 could be a good platform for Microsoft and Bungie to get together and start pondering over the idea of a movie. It made me think, how 'bout you?

Good evening Crazy Turkey.Yes I am indeed still here. And yes, I think that Bungie and Micrsoft will ponder about making a Halo movie within the first 24 hours of Halo2.

I hope to God it goes that way. If the Halo community actually makes an impact like that in the first 24 hours that would be amazing. To turn the heads of Microsoft and Bungie like that and make them seriously suggest, "Wow, I think we could really prosper on the aspect of a movie." That would be surprising indeed.

Really? Hmm.... Lemme see.... How many copies have currently been sold of Halo? The absolute majority of Halo buyers will go back for the second one. And I know xbox had a big thing about Halo selling 1 mill. So we know they AT LEAST made 50 mill already. Now if in the first 24 hours all those people (plus many more hopefully) besiege's the many stores around the country for a copy of Halo 2 and Microsoft and Bungie make thier 50 mill back in ONE DAY, then I could definitely see them talking about a movie.

Halo was the test; Halo 2 is the decider!

haha! When I think of November 9th all I can see are swat teams with riot shields blocking the entrances to all the game places around the country so all of us Halo fans dont storm the malls and shops in a mad frenzy to loot the entire shipment of Halo 2 games (that's why I pre-ordered the collector's edition). WE SHALL NOT BE DENIED! :D

Celenon dude, thats a really interesting piece of information, Halo movies aside! Its true though... people Ive been talking to who wouldnt otherwise look at games are hanging out for Halo 2. My 49 year old father has preordered a copy, for cripes sake. If this game goes well (and I only say 'if' because the Gods of Murphys Law suggest it would be good to cover all bases... but we know the game will) then basically... every single Hollywood studio out there will be basically offering their hot 18 year old daughters to Bungie to get the rights to this movie. Bungie will be left simply with no excuse to think of a movie venture.

Now, dont read 'movie venture' as 'cash cow'... Bungie arent like that... give these guys the respect of being in the top two game studios at the moment that they deserve. Hopefully theyll look at all of this positive attention to actually say "Hey! if we made a movie now, we could make how WE want, and people would still watch it, because everyone loves Halo!!"

I mean this as a good thing of course... I mean it as in... rather than making a sell out movie just to attract audiences, they could make the true movie us fans are pleading for.

I honestly think that they will make a movie after Halo2 is so succesful. they will realize our passion and devotion for Halo, then they will realize how rich they all are, and they will all say"hey lets make a Halo Movie!!!!"

Very true Crazy Turkey. I could see Bungie taking on the movie venture as more of a treat for the Halo community rather than, as you said, a "cash cow" most people in Hollywood would take it as. I think Microsoft would be more into the profits rather than caring if it's good or not (we have to rely on Bungie for a good movie). As long as it makes Microsoft money, it makes them happy. Bungie would make it more as a gesture of gratitude. And if they make money along the way, all for the better!
