I wish I could help dude, but the best I can offer is my advice and my opinion... but at least they seem welcome.

What my next plan to do is spearhaed whether the MC should show his face or not... I think this is actually a key aspect of a possible movie, I mean, this is the unknown MC!! For many people, the entire movie, regardless of quality, would be ruined if his face was shown at all. So here are some arguements for and against the MC taking off his armour...

FOR

- It happens in the books. So really, if you want a movie to be based on a book, you have to be prepared to have the MC out of armour.... I mean for half of 'The Fall of Reach' he isnt wearing MJOLNR armour at all.
- It would give the MC a certain air of vulnerability... as the books say, John feels naked without his armour on. If they actually made him the pasty white guy he would be after years of wearing that armour then it would show a human, fallible side, and show the audience the important human side of him.

AGAINST

- It would keep him as a faceless killing machine; or faceless defender of Humanity (depending on how you look at it)... considering that the Covenant is the faceless destroyer of Humanity, I personally like the juxtaposition of having Humanity at once destroyed and saved by merciless, faceless killers.

- It would ruin basically all fans mental image of what John actually looks like (except for the ONE person who will sit there like a stunned Mullet, mouth agape, thinking "My God... thats exactly how I pictured him!!")

- MCs original voice couldnt really be used for the MC, unless by some chance the voice guy is 6'4+, weighs 130kg, is about 40ish, and quite buff.

Personally, Im all for the MC taking his armour off, due to the last 'for' arguement, but I thought in the name of being fair I would put forward all of the main arguements I can remember... feel free to add any other arguements as you see fit.

Oh and Celenon... whats this AIM thingie?

it appears that the only thing we can agree on is that a Halo movie would be good, IN THEORY, but it would be har dto pull of to satisfy everyone. but hey, u cant make everyone happy so boo hoo u know.

I get the feeling if they made a movie where rabbits played every part and it was for childeren, but called 'Halo'... we'ed all go to see it at the theater about 4 times minimum... then we'ed buy the DVD. Then we'ed buy the Halo childerens game where all of the characters are replaced by rabbits.

The Halo Movie Petition Web site is at the following link. It's not pretty by any means, but it'll get the job done.

halomoviepetition.50megs.com/index.htm

And, hey, it's totally free.

I really support Halo being a <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=movie&v=5 6">movie</a> but it depends on Halo 2. Like if we win in Halo 2, that's it. It would be over.

Many <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=people&v= 56">people</a> have noticed that nearly a day doesn’t go by without somebody posting a “Halo movie” thread on these forums, and <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=people&v= 56">people</a> who post these are often used as flame bait by those fed up by this discussion. This is unfair on the guy who posted, since such threads are invariably made by new members who don’t realise that most <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=people&v= 56">people</a> think this topic has been discussed to death, and without a <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=search&v= 56">search</a> function nobody can expect them to know how many of these topics have been made in the past, unless there’s already one on the first index page.

So, in order to ameliorate this situation, I’m making this sticky thread where all Halo <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=movie&v=5 6">movie</a> discussion can be concentrated. If you aren’t interested in the prospect of a Halo film, then you are in the wrong thread. Just don’t post anything abusing those who are interested in such a production if your opinion is different.

If you do have an opinion on this, by all means post it. If you have a suggestion relating to a Halo film, post that as well. BUT, do not just post “yeah I like that idea”. If you don’t have anything to add to the discussion, but want to express your opinion in that way, that’s why there’s a poll. Only post if you are going to write more than a yes/no answer. At least explain why that’s your opinion, so that we can have some discussion.

Personally, I’m pretty ambivalent about the prospect of a Halo film. If one is made, I’ll see it. If there are no Halo films made, I won’t take it personally. :)

One final reminder: I don’t speak for Bungie. As a Moderator, I know no more than the rest of the community about Bungie’s plans about anything. Just make sure you don’t take anything I, or the other Moderators, say as gospel. :)

Ok i didn't read all 50 pgs of this so hopefully i'm not repeating anyone, if so sorry. Anyways the reason videogames don't make good movies is because videogame stories in general are mediocre and because of this the movies usually have different (usually crappier) stories. The story for the halo game is ok, look here are some aliens kill them. Now here are more aliens kill them too. This makes for a good game feeling, like your accomplishing something (take that you evil alien bastards and so on). This would surely make a terrible movie. However if the movie were based on the universe halo is basd in that might actually kick ten tons of ass, nine times over. But in my opinion videogames and the movies are two completely different forms of entertainment that can't become one another, although relating them to one another actually seems to work and creates a more involving experience.

O.k., I've been reading this for quite some time and this is my opinion. First, there should definitely be a Halo movie. Second, it should be live action. Third, it should be shown from a marines point of view, kind of like Starship Troopers (an amazing movie). This would be good because even non-Halo fans could dig it, you know, a few men fighting to save earth against all odds. Of course MC would be in it, but only in cameos, like comming to save the last few marines before they die. This would solve the problem of no dialog and no emotions.

But that my opinion and it may be flawed, so tell me if it is :)

Sorry, dude, um... You need signatures for a petition, and sending signitures over the net is a bad thing so's I would need a PO box or something. If any one has sugestions I would gladly take them. But, for the time being, just bug Bungie 'til they're blue with frustration.

Crazy, AIM is made by the people at America Online. It's an Instant Messanger program that costs NO MONEY. That's right, free. Go here to get it and make an account: www.aim.com

Just like the germans during world war 2, Hitler used entailing speeches, which shouting brought abou the people of germany. It spraked young minds and some of the old. Nationalism they called it. It is when you have belief in your countries power and race. That's what we need to have for Bungie and the halo movie that hasn't come out....or heard fromt he bungie people yet....Let's keep our spirits high and our vows to our selves. Promises wont work at this forum. President Kerry made alot of speeches that showed he promised alot of things. Bushes campaign made him look bad at this. But I think at the stage we're at I can safley say we can get apromising made movie of halo. It shall not BE DONE by Hollywood. It's PLOT SHALL BE DETERMINED by BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT...so it could either come from the game or the books. BUT IT"S UP TO THEM. WE NEED TO SIGN THAT PETITION WEBSITE. LET"S DO THIS. website for petition is www.halomoviepetition.50megs.com, game on!

IF YOU NEED HELP WITH MAKING WEBSITE JUST ASK ME. THERE ARE CERTAIN LEVELS WHERE MANY HAVE NEVER REACHED. I"M IMPRESSED. If people want to know how it works right now...it works by recording everytime a person goes into the website. It's at the bottom of the page that will tell the story...there have been 23 hits on the web page...let's keep getting people aquainted with the website adn HOPEFULLY Zog will work on the signatures. Go do it Zog!

Just go to www.petitiononline.com! Make a petition. If you guys dont do it tonight (I live on the east coast of the US) then I'll do it myself tomarrow. I dont want to do it tonight because today I had gone through EVERY page and compiled that list up above of suggestions. Phew, I'm tired. Anyway, petitiononline is TOTALLY free. I have an xbox backward compatibility petition in my sig that was made on that site and it seems to be a pretty popular site indeed.

Plus the signature process is very easy to handle on that site for newcomers. Try it! IF YOU DO MAKE A PETITION ON THAT WEBSITE PLEASE POST THAT YOU DID! I dont want to go on that site tomarrow and copy an already made petition.

thanx for your support guys... I'm thinkin' one of us fans could offer to start collecting signatures, and we (the rest of us) download a form that says we are wanting the movie, sign it and mail the thing to that one fan who volunteered. In the worst case I will volunteer and make sure the signatures are delivered. (I do live in washington state)

MAN ZOG ALREADY DID IT! DON"T WORRY ABOUT... if we all make a petition we wont get things done!!!!! That's why we need only one petition and Zog has already made it. Thanks man, Celenon, your awesome. BUt if we all have petitions we can't send one big petition to bungie, instead everything will be partitioned, or parted, when things are parted or come in little pieces, nothing ever comes out right. We'll at least need a million votes at zog's petition. So everyone go to www.halomoviepetition.50megs.com! Trust me celenon! We're working all together as one. As they say in the movie Mulan (disney) a gran of rice can tip the scale!

Once more... I say the petition site is as follows: halomoviepetition.50megs.com/index.htm. Now... the way it works is, you email me, I send you a form to print and sign via email. You print and then sign it. Wait for me to get th PO address online. (no more than 2 days) then send the blood thing to that.

I'm gettin a little short of temper here perps, because of people trying to rush the whole process. So slow down a little, and pay attention to what the site says.

PetitionOnline doesnt take doen addresses and all that Zog. It just takes down names and that seems to be sufficent enough. Just make a part of your site that you can input a name and it'll save itself on an "Admin Only" page so you can see all the names yourself. When it finally comes to when we want to send in our petition, we print out all the names and send it in. We'll just follow like PetitionOnline.

sorry man.

That counter on the website wont work. All I have to do it press "refresh" and the number goes up by one. Good try with that but Bungie probably would find that acceptable.
