Subject: Good Skulls?

Finding skulls has always been fun, but it is kind of a double edged sword. Finding one is fun but using it usually is not. In this vein, I suggest including skulls with positive effects in Halo: Reach. The effects could range from temporary arbiter like invisibility to total invincibilty. Of course, to balance this, normal achievments would be blocked when using these skulls. Instead, there would be certain achievements which you could do using the skulls in certain combinations. For example, clearing an entire level without a single enemy spotting you (invisibility skull) or doing an entire level with one continuous kill spree (invincibility and infinite ammo, maybe increased movement speed). So my question is; would you like to see these skulls in Halo: Reach? Why or why not?

Skull Ideas:
Invisibility, Invincibility, infinite ammo, low gravity, explosive rounds, rapid fire (speeds up single shot weapons like snipers and rockets).

Achievement ideas:
Sneak through an entire map, get a continuous killing spree, don't get hit once.

I like your idea.

all enemies have rockets launchers. even grunts and drones. and even worse, your allies.
turns all enemies into golden elites using swords, rushing and willing to kill you
gives you a special 1 hit kill pistol, a la golden pistol from goldeneye 64 (slow rate of fire, 1 hit kill, needs to be reloaded every shots).

Thanks for the link. I like their idea but I think that they have the wrong use for the skulls. I don't think they should be a crutch, I see them more as a way to just have fun and add additional content and challanges to the game relatively easily.

Also, if anyone has any ideas for other skull please post them (and better names for the ones we have)

I love the idea. I miss the good ole days when games had cheat codes you could use to dominate the game with after you beat it. Good skulls would be a similar option. Like you said, dont allow achievements to be unlocked while using them.. just have them for fun.. or going through the levels looking for secrets without worrying about getting killed.

I dont see how its a disadvantage, you get and achievement and a 1 hit kill weapon for about 5 minutes of your time.

Makes sense. A lot of sense. And it would make the game a lot more fun, albeit less challenging. I mean, I only play the Halo 3 campaign now because of skulls, and because it's way more challenging, so...

Challenge has always been a matter of choice, and that is what I seek to further with this addition. The same way people can choose to play on legendary or easy, these helpful skulls would not only give less skilled players the chance to experience the whole game, but more importantly give those who want DIFFERENT challenges the tools to do so. Imagine how much more enjoyable hunting for easter eggs would be without worreying about getting killed by a wandering elite. It would not be any easier though, because it would give Bungie license to put them in harder to reach places; places where you may have to rocket jump ect to get to.

I like the 1 gold 1 silver idea but it would be better to have gold skulls be the 1s to make the game harder so u can still have the mythic difficulty and have the silver be the good skulls that help also i think it would b cool if they included skull type game play into multiplayer skulls like the blind or fog i think that would b a lot of fun

They should have a remake of the Blind Skull, where you can only see shots being fired and objects moving. You can't see any enemies, allies, vehicles, switches, or weapons, even if they are on the ground or floor. There should also be a "Deaf" Skull, where you can't hear anything.
