Everybody knows about this already since every xbox fanboy is posting it off topic!
Not everyone, Geno tiger: There's a newb born every minute. I have had Halo on Xbox for two months, and on the PC for about a week, and did not know you could do this. Thanks for your excellent write-up, Led Zep!
They only way you would need it is if you have only played consoles your whole life, give the mouse and keyboard a chance thier controll and accuracy is supior. Trust me I have been playing video games for 18 years and have mostly played consoles untill the past year(and still do) I almost play PC religiously now, and have tried usb pads and I cant stand them. However your gaming preferance is fine with me.
(Heh, heh, heh, Nice to talk with someone of the same vintage: I've been playing from a computer keyboard for over 20 years, and almost never touched a console.)
I offer several more options:
1.) gamers that play Halo on both Xbox and PC may want just one interface, so that they can react instead of taking an extra 1/10 of a second to think.
2.) Some of us make our living at the keyboard. If Carpal tunnel threatens (as it does for me) the console cotroller can offer a lot more comfortable gaming experience than 3 MORE hours at the keyboards.
I am torn, Geno tiger, between the extra control of the keyboard (not proven, but I tend to believe you on that score) and the issues of the physical comfort of the console and the baggage of having to learn two interfaces. For now I will follow your advice and give the keyboard a chance. If it is not ENOUGH better to warrant the baggage, I'm getting an adapter....
