Maybe, then again Bungie never went for really intense menu screens. It's usually just pictures of Halo or scenery. I like it because it shows contrast between the calmer ODSTs, and the always battle ready chief.
Hi nuchy.
I like his answer. Plus remember what dutch said to The Rookie in the opener? "It's times like these where it pays off to be the strong silent type.."
BAM perfect menu.
I have to agree with him. One of the things Bungie's pressed on us the most and one of the main themes of the game is the fact that the Rookie is the "strong, silent type". Bungie made him that way to do what they did with the MC, which is to make the game a more personal experience. With a silent, mysterious main character with hidden emotions, it allows the player to experience the game however he/she wants, without being forced to feel what the protagonist feels. I think people will find a huge difference between playing as the rookie and playing as one of the other characters, each with their own emotions and backstories. The Rookie, to me anyway, is viewed as a character that really lets the player experience what he/she wants to, without being forced to feel specific emotions for certain events. The title screen is a subtle reminder that the Rookie is the strong, silent person who makes the game the most personal for the player. I hope that made sense.
