It seems people in this forum are expecting a lot from this game. Don't get me wrong, new weapons, vehicles, and overall experience are the most important things I need in this game, but I never expect them to come. The point I'm saying is don't expect too much from this game. After all, this is just a game and like all the others, it won't be perfect.

It also seems Bungie doesn't want too much hype going around. Reach is suprisingly early in my opinion, other than Halo 3 which took about 3-4 years I think. That's what led to the massive amount of hype in the days before Halo 3's launch.

If you want Halo Reach to be truly amazing, then don't expect much out of it. Then, you will not expect many of the amazing things to come in the game.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

All in all, even the people who are "Over-hyping" the game, they will be satisfied with the end result. Has Bungie ever let us down? (Well, aside from ONI, that game blows)

Just like ODST, I'm sure it has been over-hyped, and we will still be satisfied with it.

It keeps people busy, especially for Bungie games. We all know it's going to be AAA. We're now trying to push things. Go look in the early Halo 2 forum or Halo 3 forum. It's the same thing.

I am of an open mind and I am willing to hear criticism. Also: That's stupid and you're stupid.

I only over-hype it because I know that Bungie now knows everything they could do with a 360 game.

I'm not expecting too much, just better than Halo 3.

Not near as over-hyped as Halo 3 though. People actually thought you would be able to fly a pelican in the game. They also expected a survival mode.

ODST gameplay came out pretty early, about a couple of months from the release. That's prefect timing to lower hype. Bungie will probably release gameplay pics a little after ODST's release. That would wet down our appetites just enough until Halo Reach comes out.

True, we all know it will be a great game. Bungie never failed us before, but Halo 2 and 3 were both great games but people still complained about it. Why? Because they were overhyped. Not sure about Halo 2 though. Wasn't a member until a little after Halo 2 came out.

Thank you OP. I will now lower my personal standards. I now consider Halo 3 a good game, for reference.

I think Halo 3 is a wonderful game, I didn't expect TOO much from it though. So the first time I played it, I didn't expect it to be this kickass!

I thought that it would be mediocre and boy, did it deliver! I'm so glad that instead of finding and obtaining quality product that I can just change my personal satisfaction levels to validate my purchases.

Nice sarcasm there....

The point I'm saying is to not expect too much or you will be a little dissapointed in the game. People were dissapointed when you couldn't fly a pelican or have a survival mode in Halo 3. If you change your personal satisfaction levels, you will expect something different. It may be good, it may be bad, but this is Bungie we're talking about. So it will be good...very good.

Valid attempt, but people are going to end up complaining about everything anyways, so it doesn't really matter in the long run. For now, I'm just going to keep having dreams about riding a Yoshi in matchmaking.

It doesn't hurt trying right? Don't worry, I'm sure Yoshi will get in matchmaking, but remember, jump at the head!

Indeed. Of course the inclusion of Yoshi would kill any chances of getting a castle map in matchmaking, because Yoshi can't go inside of castles.

Actually, I find that I'm more invincible without pants, which is why I am not wearing any at the moment.

Perfect example: Super Smash Bros Brawl. Nintendo hyped the BLAM! out of it.....

I cant help but to be "hyped" by anything Bungie puts out there. If you havent noticed they have a more than excellent track record when it comes to making awesome video games. Im sure this will be as monumental as every other game they have put on the shelf. People will line up around the game store just like every other time a new title came out that was by Bungie. My question is, do u think they'll have Reachcon??? [pun] lol

Reach----Halo:CE-----------------ODST-----Halo2---------Halo3

Glad that Halo 3 garbage is dead, thanks to Reach.
Unfreakenbelievable!!

I agree. Most people got extremely disappointed after waiting overnight in the cold at a Walmart (or other store) for its release, and then to only find out how crappy of a game it is.

The way I see it is that you can't get much worse than Halo 3, so it can only get better. I probably won't wait out in a line for its release, either. In fact, I most likely will check out gameplay vids and keep an eye on these forums to make sure I am making a decent purchase, and to make sure Halo:Reach is actually an improvement with ideal gaming experiences.
