In this forum, no one can come here and not see a topic about weapons. All you see, however, is topics about changing or removing existing weapons. This whole forum is a civil war of Anti-BR supporters vs Anti-AR supporters. Although, most of you seem completely convinced that bungie is just gonna reuse all of the old weapons when in actuallity none of us has any proof that these weapons are in the game. I know this point isn't very sharp as no one has any proof that these weapons are not in the game.

Honestly, do any of you think you will be happy with the changes or removals of any previous weapons? Don't answer because you know that if they use the same weapons and make those changes your still going to squabble. I hope Bungie has been smart enough to realise that if they try to conform to the constraints of the BR (having 3 shot burts and a scope) or AR (full auto and a large spay area) or any weapon that these weapons will be unsatisfying, lacking of purpose, unbalanced and a complete drag to the Halo: Reach experience.

I hope some of you see my point and might even agree that we need new weapons that can fullfil our need for a balanced and fresh experience. I'm not say we need dissimilar weapon, in fact i think what we need are comparable weapon, for example a weapon similar to the BR, but because it's new it doesn't have to have a 3 round burst or a scope or be anything like the BR was, however, it can still be a mid to long range weapon that fills the spot of the BR.

That is it, as a note I won't respond to flamers, I really could care less if you think i'm stoopid, and if you mention the fact the the AR and BR are in the book I don't care because this is a game and so far no one except Bungie knows the plot of it and anything we "know" is mostly speculative until Bungie confirms or denies it.

Edit: Eh, screw it I'm just gonna go to bed, I work at 6 a.m. & it's 1:37 here.

Yeah I hope they use new models for the human weapons. The assault rifle doesn't need to be the MA5B or MA5C. The pistol doesn't need to be the M6C, M6D or M6G. The longer ranged rifle doesn't need to be the BR55. We should see different variants of all weapons that fill the same roles but are more balanced.

Like the SSMG in ODST

Thank you I'm very pleased that my first response was a pleasant one. Who know they don't even have to use different model numbers they could just use different weapons that fullfil the same purpose.

I think they sould bring back being able to dual weild needlers, but have them not as strong. Oh, by the way they should get rid of the AR it fails!

Okay so personally after reading all of the Halo books currently out there are several guns it seems that should be used.
Example: MA5K a smaller weaker cut down of the halo 1 assault rifle it fired smaller round but also holds a larger clip. And including weapons that i cannot think of at the moment cuz its kinda early and will later i know theres a rocket launcher....

A nice adjustment maybe like the ability to customize them like on a sniper rifle the difference from a normal scope from say an oracle scope.

Altogether though i love all the halo weapons and think maybe something new could be added like when i first got my hands on halo 2 the SMG excited me the BR i looked at as a wussie gun killing stuff before it got a good chance. Overall something new would work.

Thank you, I believe most of you have made positive contributions to this topic. although, I don't think customization would work because then when you picked up the sniper it has to load your sniper configuration and if you drop it and someone else picks it up then it has to load his it would probably cause lag issues, but it was a great idea all the same.

And what would you suggest for a new weapon then? What part of the sandbox could use a few more guns?

(And customization wouldn't work out too well because can you seriously imagine customizing the covenant and brute weapons too well, its a very human thing, and it would seem a bit silly if you could only modify 1/3 of the weapons in the game).

I personally have loved the weapons array in every Halo game. There has always been a good mix and whenever they add or tweak weapons, the counter it by changing something else. Every gun has had its role and there's always a right gun for every situation.

Now I haven't read any of the books and I don't know if these exist in the Halo universe, but a couple of weapons I would like to see added are:

Grenade launcher - something with a revolver style drum that holds, say, 8 grenades (a human version of the Brute shot I guess)

Autocannon - something similar to the Hammerburst in GoW 2 - love the sounds and feeling of a high calibre gun pumping out rounds at a steady pace

Maybe a handheld version of the gauss cannon?

I've also heard that the pistol from ODST was, in the stories, first released right before the battle of reach

That is all

No I'm saying get rid of the old weapon set and retire it.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I wouldn't mind seeing the MA5K assault carbine, but I think having the whole UNSC armory available would be nice.

I just prefer Assault Rifles, and I like their varieties.

If they only did double damage for headshots.......
