Subject: What ODST needs to be better in...

Before I start, I would like to remind you that I am a huge Halo fan so dont say that I "HATE" Halo because i think it can be improved. That said, here are a few things Bungie needs to consider making improvements for ODST. Now I am aware that they arent going to drastically alter multiplayer, but i think that they should make the equipment better. In the Halo 3 beta, there were two things in particular that they should bring back. The first being the magnetic trip mine, and the second being the rolling bubble shield. When I played the Beta and used the cool magnetic trip mine, I was excited that Bungie had actually added something new and different to the Halo gameplay experience. I was deeply disappointed when the actual game had omitted these two improvements. Now, the second thing Bungie needs to improve for ODST is the forge mode. If there is one thing that drive most forgers nuts, it is attempting to delete the thing your holding only to delete the thing behind it. The other thing it needs is a 90 degree snapping to or some kind of sticky grid that could help you align the pieces in a straight line easily.

Well I don't know where you got your information from, but there will be literally no changes to anything Halo 3 related...

The rolling bubble shield is a horrible idea. The trip mine was fun when it was like that, but they changed that because of some fix most likely, same with the grenade launching.

What the hell are you talking about?

What ODST needs to be better in? More intense Missions? Seriously, Halo's missions are always so dynamic and fun but it never makes me intense. I've just been playing Prototype and literally, I can't play more than one mission at a time. I'm not saying it has to be that crazy, just crazier.

The Bungie Folks have said in the podcast that they have done the traditional Halo missions better than they ever have before and I hope they are right. The team working on ODST, at least the dudes that I know, are all people I associate with crazy: Paul Bertone, Joseph Staten, Dan Miller, Lars Bakken... Did I mention Joseph Staten?

Man is born free but everywhere he is in chains.

While some of your argument is valid and agreeable, especially the beginning of the Forge bit, you must keep in mind that Halo3: ODST will contain a disk of Halo 3 multi-player that will be the same as on your Halo 3 disk.
Plus, Bungie is probably just about done with Halo3: ODST. By now they are probably giving it finishing touches: working out bugs, fitting in last minute dialouge, working out more bugs... So at this point, asking Bungie to make major programming changes to the game that is scheduled to come out in 2 months will not be very effective.

The Halo 3 BETA had no rolling bubbleshield.

if you threw it at a warthog it stuck to the warthog and you could stick it to the bottom of a vehicle so when an enemy(or unknowing teammate) got in they would explode

Sure could use Flood in Fire Fight, because Johnson isn't in that area when Chief leaves, cause he leaves with him so?

Posting on bungie.net should require that the user has had to have read a chapter book all the way through.

An ODST can't use equipment. Well at least when you're playing as them. :D

But as far as Halo 3 there won't be any changes. But I hope they do add some stuff in Reach, but in all honesty I hope they remove equipment from Reach.

ODST needs a cover system.

  • 07.16.2009 10:08 AM PDT

Ownagee

i think that for forge they should make an undo option, that would help a lot. and teetop, cover system in halo is a big no-no.

  • 07.16.2009 11:59 AM PDT
