Lets make it clear to Bungie right here and now. We are completely and utterly tired of using walking as our method of traveling in the Halo universe. If you have ever read the books, swimming is mentioned and swimming can be a fun and rewarding way of travel of its own. Completely swimming the whole game would help make the game more difficult for us hardcore Halo fans tired of the idiot-proof difficulty of Halo 1,2, and 3. Heres how it would all work,

-Simply tilt the control stick to move and look as if you were walking.

-Pressing a repeatingly helps swim faster.

-If your hit, a bar goes down and shows how much oxygen you have left.

-The new graphics engine will allow a change in armor color when you are wet. This is not needed however, because we will be playing this halo in the water, at all times.

-Bullet speed is slowed down dramatically in the water.

Tell me what you think!

Only if I can turn on an option in custom games that allows me to swim through the air.

  • 07.16.2009 2:23 PM PDT

All I ask is that you don't try to capture me.

Will we be able to see our legs/arms while swimming?

Arms only. Feet if you go underwater. Which you can't do.

I think walking and running is ok but I do agree, it is getting predictable. And everyone is walking or running, especially the noobs! When players spawn they walk or run straight into battle. I think we should skip in Halo:Reach. Skip into battle. Or swim.

And a new title;

Halo:Swimming & Skipping

And to think I almost gave up on you guys. Halo:Reach will be truly innovative.

Skipping. Swimming. Maybe some sort of water park with slides and a wave machine.

Halo:Water Park Adventure

This will indeed trash any other titles coming this year.

You can't* fire a gun at all underwater. A modern shotgun implodes, a rifle has a lethal distance of 3 feet if I remember correctly.

*correct to can't

Congrats, you just randomly trolled someone for little reason. Serious street cred right there pal.

It's cherry, tastes like strawberry, looks like watermelon, and you think it's raspberry just because.

If you have ever read the books, swimming is mentioned

If you have ever read the books, you will remember that they weren't swimming, they were simply underwater. It's kind of hard to swim when you have armor that weighs half-a-ton, hence Master Chief sinking like a rock when he jumps off of the temple after defeating the Prophet of Regret in Halo 2.

They do have an hours supply worth of air in the books though.

I never said they couldn't go underwater, I think that is retarded, but they couldn't swim. I could understand if they had some little jet-pack like things on their backs which propelled them through the water, but not through the air at all. Or, you could just walk, or stay away from water, because completely contrary to Avantheorc's statement that we are all tired of walking, not really anybody is. And yes I have seen the polls. And if you didn't already know this Avanthetroll, there are VEHICLES! to drive. If you only walk in Halo, you are an idiot.
