3 days, that's -blam!- long. 72 hours. Wow. Longer than Mass Effect methinks.

Don't worry, Halo will never come close to Mass effect.

Posted by: DreadSK
Despite that, ODST has more content than most games. So it is a full game.

I have seen expansions that have more content than this game. Oh and no it is not a full game. Never was, never will be.

Again, you fail to backup your points.(Though obviously the first one was a joke) I think you're just a COD fanboy trying to troll this forum.

how long the campaign is is all your decision. if you want it can be 3 days or 3 years if you can do that. the firefight is extra. deal with it. the extra maps can be useful if you dont have xbox live and can only play with friends at home. that gets hard when your friends can attack you if they get pissed off enough. now we have something to do instead of beat the crap out of me. hours of freedom and you say its an expansion.

  • 07.16.2009 8:23 PM PDT

..........

Also. Don't like it, Don't buy it . Microsoft decides the price, not Bungie

Oh, I know you are. Why are you even in the forum if you hate this game?

I'm guessing your also one of those whiny L4D2 boycotters. Since you hate expansions so much.

T4CT

I challenge you to finish ODST's campaign 100% in 3 days.

That's me calling bull-blam!- on you. This game isn't an expansion, and every reason I've heard said so far to explain why it's an expansion has had reasoning that falls apart at the first poke. So provide some concrete reasoning, other than "WAAAAH THE CAMPAIGN WE HAVEN'T SEEN YET ISN'T LONG ENOUGH" and then we'll see what happens.

Otherwise put your foot back in your mouth, it'll keep you quiet.

I finished Halo:CE in 16 hours, Halo 2 in about 12 and Halo 3 in 8. If ODST were to be smaller than any of these than it would be simple to finish in three days!

If fact I'm actually doing one better. Here's a post I did a while back
Linky

Edit: Oh I never said that ODST wouldn't be long enough or that I dislike it, I said it would be a small campagin. All I'm saying is that I don't count ODST as a full game, just an expansion. Oh and by the way I do think ODST is fair priced before anyone assumes I don't.

The fact that you just explained how you beat all three halo games in under a span of 3 days just tore apart your entire case. The argument was ODST was an expansion, not a game, because it could be beat in under three days, but apparently that's the case with all the Halo games, so what exactly are you -blam!-ing about? The fact that you're going to beat ODST in less than 3 days, the same amount of time as the other games? But ODST is not a game. Well hooray for making sense oh wait that doesn't.

ODST, with it's open ended world centre, and 8 spokes, none of which we know the duration of, plus whatever extras bungie puts into the campaign, will take longer than 8 hours to complete. I'll actually guarantee it. Halo 3 is by no means a long campaign to complete, and I'm actually expecting that because of the nature of ODST's campaign I'll take longer to finish it 100% (terminals done and everything) than Halo 3. Plus, unfortunately, the majority of people have these things called jobs and/or school that prevent uninterrupted gameplay because we have to make contributions to society.

I won't get into why your "ODST Challenge" doesn't make sense but suffice to say that's not what the gameplay in ODST is like...maybe go watch the gameplay trailer again, and the E3 briefing.

Halo 3: ODST is just as much of a game as Halo 3 was, it just happens to have a different campaign. And comes with firefight. And the Reach beta. But ODST's campaign isn't linear like Halo 3's, it's open-ended, free for you to go as you will, and your inherently being weaker as an ODST means it's going to take longer to get things done. Non Linear + More Tactical Gameplay = Longer Playtime. And I'd argue more replayability.

My god! Ok this is just about to go off the topic. I'm saying that ODST is an expansion, Bungie said it themselves! Bungie said it will take you about 6 to 8 hours to finish the game! It's not a game it's an expasion because ODST only offers mutliplayer with one mode and campaign. This doesn't mean is going to be bad, quite the opposite! It's just not a full game! ODST is it's small size because if they made it bigger they would be exploiting it! It's small for a very good reason. But it is an expansion!

When it comes to who's right, I'm going to believe the developers of the game!

Actually. They said it was a Full game. It was bigger than they had imagined it would be so they decided to name it a full game

Everything you just said is outdated; if you were paying attention to any recent news, you'd know that they've said they expanded greatly on the game, no longer making it an expansion. And I believe in their very first podcast this year, they said they estimated ODST gameplay at around 15 hours. That was when it was still an expansion, we didn't know about anything beyond the spoke-and-wheel thing, and the campaign was still basic.

Why, that's exactly what I'm going to do! Except their most recent givings.

Can you give me proof so I can edit this thread again?

I'm gonna go have to listen to the podcast again but yeah, I'll post when it's said later.
As for it not being an expansion but a fullout game, if you really need me to find a reference I can. Otherwise you should be able to just google it and find where the guy said it. I'd do it right now but I'm watching the E3 IGN briefing again.
