The title says it all

if you look at this screen shot

you can see the entire back of the Halo 3 ODST case. The game is rated M for Blood,Language and Violence, no gore. This automaticaly confirms no flood because when you kill flood body parts come off.
Thank god for no flood

Here is the front of the case http://img401.imageshack.us/i/odstcasefront.jpg/

the flood are fun. i mean i want to turn them into chunks like in h2 and h3. i am just gonna wait until the game comes out before i jump to conclusions.

First of all the case isn't official

Second, even if it was the real one it doesn't prove anything.

Nope, not confirmed. I've seen ratings descriptors change right up until the day the game ships, sometimes after.

Also, I could have guessed that there was no flood, if anyone has played Halo they know the flood don't arrive on Earth until the Floodgate level in Halo 3.... unless there's some surprise legendary ending where the rookie gets blasted off to Installation 02 and raped by flood.

My stories:

Streams of Fire

Jiralhanae

how is it even possible for flood to be there? It takes place before Halo 3, so how could flood be there when they arrived during Halo 3. Of course there are no flood, it wouldn't make sense...

As people have said, the Flood didn't come to Earth till Halo 3. However... knowing Bungie... You never know.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Dont be so sure, Bungie (even ensemble) finds ways to somehow put the Flood in, while it makes sense.

You never know. ODSTs story line could stretch until Master Chief arrives back on earth and the Flood follow him. Therefore allowing you to fight the flood. Just one of many possibilities. Another one being that there was already a spore seed attatched to Master Chiefs armor when rturning to Earth from Halo CE and starting the first Human/Flood war before Halo 3 not yet revealed.?

Donuts > all other food

Bungie confirmed that there would be no flood a LONG time ago.

  • 07.17.2009 7:42 AM PDT

They may change their minds

  • 07.17.2009 7:43 AM PDT

they would infect u because u hav no shields! there will not b any flood

  • 07.17.2009 7:44 AM PDT

Of course no flood in campaign but what about firefight? Unlikely but hey, it can happen!

The name's Ian, Game Designer at Whisper Game Studios, very off-and-on Bungie.net visitor and avid Bungie fan overall. Message me if you wish.

Why is the rating pending still?

I know a whole level of firefight with flood god just imagine the possibilities

Some people, such as the OP, are idiots. They have no sense in time, and have to ask whether Chief, or the Flood, will be in the game. Chief is on Delta Halo as the events of ODST unfold, and the Flood has not yet reached Earth.

Morons.

How did they fit the Flood into Halo Wars? I played it, but I never understood how it was set before Halo: CE, we saw the Flood, but in Halo CE we had no idea what it was.

In Halo3, FloodGate, the town they had to destroy to contain the Flood was Voi, right?

The flood were on the shield world but the spirit's crew were, at the point of halo ce, likely still lost so were unable to report it. We don't yet know if the spirit has ever made it back - i smell a sequel...

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

Evident plot hole. You think Captain Cutter and his fleet would immediately report such a hostile new organism to USNC command. It is weird how in Halo CE everyone's like "What are these things? They're not covenant! Argh..." When obviously, humans met the flood 30 years ago.
