I think the cutscenes are just videos and not gameplay.
They are in-engine rendered.

I think the cutscenes are just videos and not gameplay.
Unlike many games, all the Halo games render their cut scenes in real time. They just use higher quality models and textures and a fixed camera.

Yep, that'd be neat. I don't see why not. Lost Planet let you do this.

Bungie, you know. While it's good to make your product have great cinematography, after watching it, it's sort of would be just cool to explore those environements.

You could just have different 'vantage points' through the video, that you could change to see a different angle.

Might be hard though ...
How would it be hard? Bungie films their cinematics similar to how Theater works, they just lock it into place and don't let us fly the camera around.
