Out of vehicles. Why you ask? Well for numerous reasons. Ever want to make an awesome bomb out of your mongoose or warthog? I mean sure, you can stick a grenade to it and charge in blindly, but then you'll more than likely die. Another method would be to get out of the vehicle a few meters from your destination, but that takes timing that one second off could cost you your virtual life.
Also, ever encounter people who fly far too close to you with a banshee? Well now you can jump from your vehicle to the banshee!
Execution of the move would be easy, with the use of right bumper + the A button, you leap.
Now obviously there would be some constraints. If someone is jacking you, you are locked in. This makes it so that people who are about to get jacked still have to get jacked and can't just bail ship. Another constraint would be a slight wait at the press of the buttons. For example, when getting out of your vehicle normally, you have to wait a few seconds, and then you get out. With jumping, you would have to wait a second or two more before leaping into the air. Finally, if you are in the drivers seat of the vehicle, the vehicle remains of a straight path or heading in the direction that the wheels were turned in. This means that if you were in the process of pulling a U-turn or fishtailing, the vehicle would continue turning in that same direction, rather than "resetting" and going straight.
How more awesome would this make vehicle combat? In my opinion, much more awesome, but that's just me so let me hear it!
Also, while I'm on the topic, I would like to see player damage. Shoulder pieces falling off, chest pieces chipping, scorching, etc. This way, you could easily tell someone is nearing the invincible badge by looking at their gear. You would also be able to identify with the player better as well and less observant or new players would be able to focus fire more often. Plus I think it would look pretty dern cool. Again, my opinion, so let me hear your yays and nays!
On a side note, if armor becomes chipped away and the game is based on gear/classes, then Bungie would have to decide whether or not this affects you in game. For example, someone with far less armor might not recieve the same bonuses as someone with a lot of armor on. In my opinion this would even out the skill a little bit when you have some fresh or simply unskilled players playing. It would also help to add some new badges to the mix as well as point out the really good players: (can you say naked victory lap?) Obviously it wouldn't be that graphic but you get the picture.
At any rate, these are my suggestions, again, yays and nays! Let em rip!
