Out of vehicles. Why you ask? Well for numerous reasons. Ever want to make an awesome bomb out of your mongoose or warthog? I mean sure, you can stick a grenade to it and charge in blindly, but then you'll more than likely die. Another method would be to get out of the vehicle a few meters from your destination, but that takes timing that one second off could cost you your virtual life.

Also, ever encounter people who fly far too close to you with a banshee? Well now you can jump from your vehicle to the banshee!

Execution of the move would be easy, with the use of right bumper + the A button, you leap.

Now obviously there would be some constraints. If someone is jacking you, you are locked in. This makes it so that people who are about to get jacked still have to get jacked and can't just bail ship. Another constraint would be a slight wait at the press of the buttons. For example, when getting out of your vehicle normally, you have to wait a few seconds, and then you get out. With jumping, you would have to wait a second or two more before leaping into the air. Finally, if you are in the drivers seat of the vehicle, the vehicle remains of a straight path or heading in the direction that the wheels were turned in. This means that if you were in the process of pulling a U-turn or fishtailing, the vehicle would continue turning in that same direction, rather than "resetting" and going straight.

How more awesome would this make vehicle combat? In my opinion, much more awesome, but that's just me so let me hear it!

Also, while I'm on the topic, I would like to see player damage. Shoulder pieces falling off, chest pieces chipping, scorching, etc. This way, you could easily tell someone is nearing the invincible badge by looking at their gear. You would also be able to identify with the player better as well and less observant or new players would be able to focus fire more often. Plus I think it would look pretty dern cool. Again, my opinion, so let me hear your yays and nays!

On a side note, if armor becomes chipped away and the game is based on gear/classes, then Bungie would have to decide whether or not this affects you in game. For example, someone with far less armor might not recieve the same bonuses as someone with a lot of armor on. In my opinion this would even out the skill a little bit when you have some fresh or simply unskilled players playing. It would also help to add some new badges to the mix as well as point out the really good players: (can you say naked victory lap?) Obviously it wouldn't be that graphic but you get the picture.

At any rate, these are my suggestions, again, yays and nays! Let em rip!

I received Recon for being awesome. Like it matters anymore. Thanks ODST! :D

Seeing players jumping from vehicle to vehicle could get pretty exciting, and would make awesome footage for Machinima.

I am of an open mind and I am willing to hear criticism. Also: That's stupid and you're stupid.

I like the first part of this thread.

The second part wouldn't make too much sense for game play, eventually my armor wouldn't look like armor, it would lose it's color, and eventually the armor itself would fall off. This would also give a reason to make second accounts to remain with their full armor to beat the other players with weaker armor to rank up quicker.

Battle damaged armour should only be present in one match. The way I see it, if it were included, by the end of the match, your spartan would look like a mess if hurt too much, and your armour is restored after each battle. That way, the aesthetic changes aren't permanent, but are present in a match to make things seem more realistic.

yes that's what I was aiming for when I mentioned it. The armor would "regenerate" at the end of the match, and at the beginning of the next match/round etc. you would have your full armor back.

Regenerate? Why can't you just have your unit's Master At Arms fix you up? ;)

Leaping would be a great way to abandon ship quick enough to escape an incoming rocket or sp'laser shot but your delay concept ruins that. Maybe you can't shoot for a bit after you leap so that people don't leap all the time.

well what if the game allowed you to have destructable cover by big enough explosions and you could attach a explosive to the front of your hog
you could bail out of the hog right before you would explode from the hog and the car would continue and make a hole in the wall (hog would blow up of coarse) it could stop camping spots allot and
i also like the idea of jumping from one vehicle to board another would be epic but i dont like the delay for jumping though i think you shoud just jump

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

Someone has been playing Vin Diesel's Wheelman.

But just no.

I've never played Wheelman, ever. Read a review and heard it was entertaining but that's not where I got the idea for this. And if you're going to say "no" then put a responsible and strong argument. Saying "just no" proves nothing more than that you disagree with an idea that could (on some level) possibly be placed into the game.

How would this work exactally? How would jumping from vehicle to vehicle work? When have you ever been close enough to an enemy vehicle to perform such a task?

What you are thinking of is dream.

It would never work for several reasons;

A) You would need to be close enough to an enemy vehicle, on the same side that you are on. (Which by the way, I have never seen 2 enemy warthogs or other vehicles drive side by side)

B) The only way it would work would be a side by side vehicle thing, because if it were just passing each other like you would on a road, the option would only appear for a split second, if you were to press the option the animations would be buggy, let's say it takes 0.5 seconds for the animation of getting out of your vehicle and preparing to jump, but wait, if the enemy warthog was driving in the opposite direction then it would be to far away. It would be like your spartan jumping from your vehicle to an enemy vehicle about 100 feet away, it is very buggy.

So all I really have to say is, when do you ever see 2 opposing warthogs driving side by side? Also, when do both Warthogs not have atleast one gunner, to destroy the opposing warthog in seconds?

So? Just because the circumstances would be rare doesn't mean they can't be included.

Did you forget that graviry hammers can deflect rockets? Who the hell thought that up? When would there be a set up for that? Rarely.

Makes it even sweeter when it happens.

Leaping would be nice. That way you're not insta-owned when a vehicle foes down.
