Subject: Where does Halo Reach come from?

Now playing all the games of Halo,1,2, 3, and soon ODST. Where does Halo Reach tie into of course has to do something with the ending of Halo 3. Does it go back with marathon or just completely changing the halo customs. Like Master Cheif is he in this do you get to play with him. Cortana, anyone new like another war against elites. I am wonder if you Bungie is changing the way we play halo. not to be rude i just think Halo Wars wasnt that good thats like a PC game no one really likes those games on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, etc... All im saying is stick to what you do first. I mean yeah its great to make changes like the armor choices, great idea but making a controlled game isnt going to help. If you have any questions you know who i am Mikerboom1.

As you progress throughout your life you realize that the older you get the closer your are to death, the only thing you cannot change.

Reach most likely takes place years/days/hours before Halo Combat Evolved

no it has to do with a time in between halo wars and ce when they had to capture reach which is a planet in halo wars they talk a bit about it you also play as multiple spartens and NO master chief

The multiple Spartan part may or not be true, you may play as Master Chief, it could be before Halo Wars, the UNSC had control of Reach.

Halo: Reach is set just before Halo 1, when the Covenant attack the human planet of Reach, setting the stage for the first game.

And Bungie didn't make Halo Wars. Which is why it was crap.

Reach like I said before may actually take place right before H1, and a long time before Halo 1.
Halo Wars was not crap either, just not as good in any aspect as the other Halo game btw

Halo Reach takes place about 20 days before Halo CE.

No, it DOES take place right before Halo 1. Well, a few weeks/months before Halo 1, but in storytelling terms, it is right before the first game because the Pillar of Autumn travels to the first Halo as the battle is ending.

You are most likely talking about the Battle of Reach, if I reacall correctly Master Chief and the Pillar of Autumn escaped as the Battle of Reach just started, and arrived at Halo only a couple of hours later at the least and at max two days later, I don't understand where you the 20 days from

It doesn't necesarily have to be just the Battle of Reach, it could be the Spartans training to, maybe some of their earlier missions(oh god that would mean no energy shileds) but some would take place in the timeframe you have said

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Doubtful. Bungie's games rarely, if ever, take place for a time frame of more that a month or two. Perhaps Reach will skim over the Spartan training, but it is most likely solely going to cover the actual fall of Reach. The trailer actually depicts Reach as it is getting glassed. Chances are, the game will take place during a period of no more that a month or so (covering the time when the covenant arrive to the time when Halo: First Strike occured), and show what else was going on besides the Chief's story (who, by the way, did not take action during the battle of Reach, but only went planet side after he returned from Halo).

I don't know where some people are getting Halo Wars from any of this. Halo wars was not a Bungie production... so if you want to get technical about it, even if some of the storyline/settings/characters occur in the Halo story none of it actually happened. o.O

NY Giants
Miami Heat

Halo Reach comes from a factory down from mexico, the content of the disk comes from a studio called bunjay.

If your going to be sarcastic about it and crack jokes. You could at least show enough respect to get the companies name right on their own site. >_>

Only one of the Halo books was written by a Bungie employee. Following your logic only Contact Harvest happened among them.

Every major production in the Halo universe (games, novels, graphic novels, and short film clip) is canonical, and many minor productions are too (like Conversations from the Universe or the teaser stories for Cold Storage and ODST).

Well that's the whole catch. It is obviously a prequel to Halo 1 in some fashion but then you wonder what happened when the chief was floating into the forerunner planet on the Halo 3 legendary ending. Then they come at the beginning of this video and say "From the beginning you know the end." What does that mean when you string all the different pieces together? It means that what happens in Halo Reach will somehow signify what happens to the Chief after Halo 3 or something like that.
So this means that Halo: Reach is a prequel timeline-wise but it is a sequel to Halo 3 in a shape or form plot-wise.
The game will probably focus on the spartan training sessions/programs and then there will be some obvious battles and a few plot insights perhaps as to what happens after the 3rd.

Yes only one was written directly by a Bungie employee but the others still had consent from Bungie and worked with the staff to write them. You can't expect all Bungie employees to be great writers now can you? Bungie claimed no part in Halo Wars and as you can tell... or maybe not... it has no postings by Bungie as a game on this, their official site. Logic correct :o

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Yet another person who has no idea what they are talking about.

Bungie did not make Halo Wars.
Halo: Reach will be an First Person Shooter.
Halo: Reach is a PREquel, meaning it is before the trilogy. (It may however include some events after the first Halo)

And yes Halo: Reach starts right before the first Halo and they both end at around the same time.

Wrong. Bungie did not make Halo Wars, as stated, but the events in the game were canon. Besides that, the Bungie site is for production of Bungie, and only their productions.
