In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Again, Bungie claimed no part in Halo Wars like you said. But the creators of Halo Wars just had rights to the name. There is no proof that most of anything in that game happened according to Bungie(The ACTUAL creators of Halo, therefore the deciders of what is and what isn't). Now, if you want to you could try to find your proof and just prove that a short crappy RTS game may have actually happened according to the creators. But that would be a serious waste of time in my opinion.Yes, Bungie decides "what is and what isn't." And they never said that Halo Wars "isn't." The fact is, it is canon, go read Halopedia.
How about the fact that the Halo Wars graphic novel "Genesis" is written by Eric Nylon, the write of "Fall of Reach", "First Strike", and "Ghosts of Onyx"?
