The Halo works?

Does anyone have a clue, on how it destroys all sentient life, with sufficient biomass?

Does anyone have a theory?

This was posted about a week ago but you're bound to get some people spouting off their theories on how it works. I personally have no clue or theory to how Halo works.

I'm guessing, perhaps it draws all life force from the living creatures, or it eminates an EMP that gives everything a hartatack?

Really where was this posted before, because I can't find it.

If nobody knows, thats okay too, I guess there really aren't many clues as to how it works.

Then another thing, why does it need to be fired to stop the Flood from spreading, with sufficient force you can still shoot the Flood. If the Sentinals would be able to handle the Flood with lets say stronger lasers, you wouldn't have to destroy all life in the galaxy, just the Flood.

If there was a Flood outbreak before, how did they get back in their cages(restricted areas) anyway?

all we know is that it holds vast unimaginable powers, four generators are involved, it kills all sentient life within its range of 25,000 light years, which is covered by some sort of pulse.

Idk how it works, But i do know the flood. The flood, are a higly parasitic and higly adadtive form of life. They can lie dormant for 100,000's of year's, only to be awakened by their hunger, and prensence of food. If the flood got off of halo, no lifeform would ever exsist, besides the flood. As the monitor says "if the flood were to leave this installation, they would consume all". Inevitably, the flood would spread father and farther. And even though halo destroys all sentient life, life will rise again. Although it would have to start from scratch, it would be back. The monitor also said, "last time you asked me, if it were my choice would i do it. Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed. We must activate the ring. If you are unwilling to help, i will simply find another." Yes he knows the flood must be stopped. And knows what need to be done. They flood were lying dormant, and the monitor sealed the section's they were contained in. Damn the flood, You cant destroy them, only make em go silent.

*Sgt

lol Halo is simply atime bomb waiting to be set off when the flood are released. it was built to contain\destroy the flood. i don't know how but it is supposed to wipe out all living things in the system *except the flood* so the flood will be starved and unable to reproduce, eventually dying off from this lack of reproduction

I think that the Halo rings would destroy all life that has the proper form and characteristics in their body which would allow the Flood to take control of their bodies since it's of sufficient size. In Halo, only Elites and humans would be taken over by the Flood since they had the proper form and traits in their bodies to be used by the Flood as a Combat Form Flood, then later a Carrier Flood which would release the smaller infection form flood to take over more beings of sufficient size and use them as a host. So in conclusion, I think that the Halo rings would only kill life that would be good enough for the Flood to use as a host.
