Good idea? Bad idea?
I'm not saying that Bungie can host the servers, the servers can be bought and be paid monthly and be populated on a server list.
Just like a custom game finder.

If anything they would do it for Halo Reach/Halo ODST. They might do it or not we will just have to wait and see.

OMG this is where my signiture goes..... oh.. wait...

Finished the Fight!! 09/28/07!

Ill break it to you this way.

Quoted from Louis Wu at Halo.Bungie.Org:

800,000 unique players (not including guests) and 2 million logged matches in the last 24 hours... and the numbers were 4 times that last week on Bungie Day.

Let's say they tried to supply dedicated servers for 50% of the average usage - they'd need at least 30,000 servers for that. Plus a place to put them, and bandwidth, and power, and cooling...

Who's paying for this? (Certainly not me - I'm not willing to have my LIVE subscription go up past $50/year so that some people can play on dedicated servers.)

You're dreaming.

So to say the least... I don't see it happening, and if this is the case, which I'm sure it would be, then.... I don't want it either.
