Get Some!!

As it has been said many times in this forum, Reach is a direct prequel to Halo CE. Therefor the end of Reach almost has to end with the PoA flying away from Reach with the chief aboard. It would not be a prequel if the game went on after they glassed Reach, it would just be another story during the same time period. I am not saying that we will play as Master Chief, but he will make an appearance in Halo: Reach.

Master Chief flees Reach on the Pillar of Autumn about half an hour into the fight...

He's also on board it for some period of time between Reach and Halo, and so the story could take place then.

I would say that you play as MC and there are spartans with you as the game goes on. Just like your team on COD4. And if you read the H3 manual it says that you are the last remaining spartan so maybe your team dies on the last level like COD4 but you escape on the PoA.

CoD got boring. Halo got awsome. Crack me a new one.

Master Chief never sets one foot on Reach during the fall of reach. He is in orbit during the entire fight. Its not until after halo 1, in First Strike, when he returns to Reach.

I think that the game will follow at least partly the story of the spartans on the planet surface, who were overwealmed by Covenant groung troops defending the super MAC power stations.

I was watching somewhere an analysis of the Reach video.

In it you clearly hear a Spartan state "This is Spartan group 259", but there were only 150 Spartans in the first group.

This means they may have created or augmented another 150 Spartans and you play as some of them so it has NOTHING to do with Master Chief or the books.

It was never stated how many Spartans (according to their number) were in the original test pool. That was reduced to 150 and later 75. There was also never a second class of Spartan II's.

The original test group was at least 320 kids big. This was cut to the 150 kids that Halsey and Keyes observed. They kept their original numbers, for example, Michael-214, even thought they are now only 150 strong. That was later reduced to 75. Out of those 75, 42 either "washed-out" or died.

Viva La Revolution!
Social Infection ftw

Agreed. The 300+ were ALL given numbers when they were kidnapped.

There's your answer.
