this is just something that I was thinking of for the story of Halo Reach
at the end of Halo 3, the Master Chief and the Arbiter were separated when the worm hole closed up cutting there ship in half. the Arbiter was sent back to earth, but the Master Chief was sent to some strange planet. my theory is that he was not only sent to that strange planet, but back in time as well. and that planet is none other than Reach. watch the Legendary ending on youtube or where ever you can find it, and the Reach trailer. you will see a lot of similarities between the 2. tell me your thoughts on my theory

A lot of people have thought this.

However, you sir are crazy. Time travel is the bane of storylines. It just makes things lame. I seriously doubt that Chief goes back in time.

See you at the Aftermath!

PsychoSangheili

I certainly hope not. im not trying to flame you, but why dont we just throw in a flying Delorean while we're at it?

My guess is that the planet in the legendary ending is part of the third halo "thing" confirmed to be in production.

I disagree. It's already stated in the books that if a ship decelerates enough in slipspace, it will just fall out of slipspace and back into normal space as it falls out of it's slipspace field collapses due to the loss of speed. So if the collapsing of a slipspace field will simply drop a ship back into normal space, a collapsing portal will just drop the ship somewhere in between the Ark and Earth, and not in some parallel dimension or back in time. This is because the portal is just a kind of forerunner generated slipspace field.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Because there are stories yet to be told from the books. Like the defense on the reactors.

It's cherry, tastes like strawberry, looks like watermelon, and you think it's raspberry just because.

I do not agree. I think that the planet that MC is floating to is the Dyson Sphere that was in the compressed Slipspace bubble in the center of Onyx. My theory is that the Spartan-IIs and Spartan-IIIs that went there succeeded in getting the Dyson Sphere, as well as the Spartan-IIIs that were inside the Slipspace pods, out of Slipspace and into real space.

No. He was sent to a planet built and/or inhabited by the Forerunner. If you read the last terminal on Legendary, Mendicant Bias (The AI that is talking in the terminals) says that, though he cant be forgiven for what he did, he'll send you (the chief) as an example that he's changed. If you want this to make sense, check halopedia

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

I've seen dozens of side by side comparison between Reach and the Legendary Planet. They look nothing alike. The only similarity are the lights, and if that was Reach, there would be none due to it having been glassed. Plus, the Legendary planet has a blue sun, compared to the yellow sun around Reach.

It's not the Micro Dyson Sphere from "Ghosts of Onxy." 1, the Dyson Sphere was like the one in Halo Wars: An artificial sun at the center with terriformed area inside a sphere, almost like a reverse planet (for want of a better idea). Plus, slipspace cannot be seen, it is simply empty blackness. The chief and Cortana fell out of slipspace and are drifting in normal space.

The one in Halo Wars is the same as the one in Ghosts of Onyx, just in different planets. They were both in Slipspace. And, normal space can't be seen either, it's the same. The only difference is that Slipspace is like a compressed version of real space, and wrapped sort of like a ball of yarn, so that different strands of space are in different places, which is why when the Covenant and the humans inside the Covenant Flagship couldn't hit each other with the plasma guns, because it all kept jumping around in Slipspace, and hitting places randomly. They could still see the Covenant ship beside them though, so Master Chief and Cortana would be able to see the Dyson Sphere inside of Slipspace. Anyways, I said that the Spartans and Dr. Halsey had succeeded in getting the Dyson Sphere out of Slipspace, like they were going to try to do at the end of the book. It is also possible that it is still inside Slipspace, however, because Joseph Staten said in an interview that Master Chief was stuck in Slipspace.

Reach MMO. Here's to hoping.

And the people that believe "the hardcore playlists would be more popular if the rules were strictly MLG" can come off it, now. If you're not willing to support something close to your own setup, there's no reason for us to believe that cloning our own lists and stripping the variety down will attract more people. -- Shishka, Bungie.net

The fact that so many people are suggesting this idea just goes to show how cliche and uninspired it is.
