Subject: What types of maps would you like to see in the Beta?

Naturally, there will probably be a big team map, a one sided objective map, and a slayer arena map, like in the Halo 3 beta, but what type of environments do you want to see?

Personally I would love for there to be another map in the same type of setting as guardian, a huge forest full of structures and platforms woven into the trees. Maybe they could try a huge btb map in such a setting, I think it would be really cool.

What else? What types of settings do you want to see the maps on?

Some good Ideas I've heard (might combine several that are simillar).
>Mountainous ore refinery with tunnels (lava tubes)
>Painland (I think thats what it was called), an area that the Spartans trained in, an alpine forest area, with water, bunkers, targets, training structures, ect.
>Some map with a waterfall with one base in the caves behind it and one base outside the waterfall.
>Big team battle covenant themed vehicular map
>Some abandoned cityscape from Reach that is partially glassed and destroyed.
>Those temple / tunnel / water surrounded forerunner structures from Delta Halo (chief fights on them as he heads towards the Prophet of Regret, it was sweet scenery).

Actually it could be cool if they did a snowbound reimagining, perhaps in a cave of some sort, with more tunnels and bigger tunnels. I mean, there should be two bases, but literally an anti hive of tunnels underneat them with rocks and vehicular pathways above them.

I would hope they don't remake any maps, just because people will complain about it being "not the same". More original new maps, less remakes.

I doubt that there will be any remakes in the Beta, severe reimaginings maybe (in other words, dropping a giant ass hill in the middle of blood gultch was pretty severe), but it should be all original maps.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

I would like to see sort of what they did for Halo 3.

1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small.

Pretty much, a 'base vs base valley' style (not blood gulch itself, but them improve from valhalla)
A medium map that will give way to alot of objective games (sort of how High ground stood for the beta)
A small map for mainly slayer games (like how snowbound was)

Thats an awesome idea! I would like to see an urban city map that has buildings with several floors offering cover and sniping locations.

I like maps in urban settings, like headlong and turf. Another map on earth would be cool. Or in this case Reach, I guess it doesn't really matter which.

My ideas for just the beta in general are that it should have a 5v5 team playlist and a 8 player free for all playlist. And that all the maps should be playable in the two playlists for maximum variety. The team playlist should have team slayer and CTF, and the Free for All playlist should have slayer, oddball and king of the hill. Settings for the beta maps could be a Human map in a city or urban environment. I want an asymmetric Covenant map with lots of vehicles. And lastly I want a Forerunner map that looks like areas in Halo 2 on the campaign levels Delta Halo and Regret.

I would actually love flooded temples actually, that would be freaking sweet.

Same with the asymetrical covenant map with lots of vehicles, we've never had one of those, maybe set on the Elite's homeplanet?

Blood Gulch Remake!!!1!

I'm not sure, a similar selection to what they had in the Halo 3 Beta was cool. Although i'll pass on Snowbound, Valhalla was good, the asymetry and Attack/Defend layout of High Ground was good, but then i'd like to see a more arena-type map for FFA and 2v2/3v3.

As for environments, I'd like to see a larger map that had the same feel as Guardian, with that backdrop of a lush, humid jungle. And maybe an Arena-type map in a human structure similar to Foundry, since Reach has lots of that, being a human colony and all. Then maybe a Snowy High Ground?

Lots of calls for blood gultch huh?

Wouldn't it be funny if Bungie made a slayer arena map that took place on the top of the cliffs surrounding blood gultch and made it so you can gaze down at the old map but not reach it without dieing?

The backlash on the forums would be so sweet :)

Large team based maps geared towards vehicular combat in roomy open spaces and close quarters combat in bases and tunnels.

I want to see 3 maps kind of like the Halo 3 Beta's (1 big, 1 medium, 1 small) along with some new environments, like a Human ship or a underground tunnel map.

A map that has one side set behind a waterfall and the other outside it (most likely a forerunner facility) That would be pretty cool. Especially hearing the roar of the water from below.

Another idea (also involving water) would be a map that takes blace underwater, and has hallways and tunnels leading to different parts of the map, with spheres as main rooms that are made of glass, and a place above the water that you could walk on.

That's all I have at the moment.

Kinda like the forerunner structures on Delta Halo in Halo 2 where you find and kill Regret? Plenty of awesome tunnels there.
