And my answer: no. Because it should have the same or more recoil, for the fact your an odst, its harder for you too keep the smg down (because it climbs up from the recoil), because you do not have the strength of a spartan.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

Wrong. The silencer reduces the speed of the bullet by funneling gasses, and isn't rifled. Since the bullet is traveling slower, so silencers negatively affect accuracy and reduce recoil.

Recoil reduced: less gas pressure from the round going off
Accuracy reduced: less gas pressure, no additional rifled barrel
