(Most of the things stated in this thread are more geared toward the campaign experience)

I'd really like to see something in Reach to actually distinguish the Spartans from any of the other foot soldiers in the series. In the previous games, there's just nothing that made Master Chief special other than the fact that.. well.. he's Master Chief. Why not actually make these Spartans as powerful as they're supposed to be? We haven't really seen much of the Spartan's true strength in the games.

Obviously you're strong if you can flip a tank and jump twice your height, but why not have us do things like be able to pick up a grunt and throw him into his comrades with one hand, and limit the amount of recoil that's being caused seeing as we have roughly 400+ lbs of uper body strength at our disposal? Why not actually have us chase after a ghost on our own two feet, seeing as the spartans could supposedly run 30+ mph as opposed to the horrendously slow pace we currently run at?

Chances are changes like this aren't going to happen, but I'd love if they did; right now there isn't much that makes them as "Super Human" as they're claimed to be other than what we've read in books.

Quite right. I believe that every Halo fan who has read at least one of the books feels the same way as you do. It is gonna get worse before it gets better though (ODST). But hopefully in Reach my Spartan will be able to pick up that Mongoose and make the Grunt's face say hello to it in a very forceful way.

i havent played crysis but ive seen alot of gameplay videos of it. i wish master chief could do have of the things the super soldiers from crysis do. they can turn invisible and punch hole through building and through koreans.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Because the game would be too freaking easy. This isn't Prototype, man. Halo is supposed to be a challenge, and even though the Spartans could do those sorts of things if they wanted, they never would since those sorts of opportunities were never presented. The Spartans, surprisingly, were all about stealth and tact. No run and gun action like most of us like to think.

The true superhuman abilities of the Spartans was created in the books and will likely stay in the books, as it should, at least until Chronicles comes off of the shelf, if it ever does. Same for the movie.

I think this is a decent example of what a Spartan should be able to do, although it may be dramatized at least a little bit.

Abilities similar to those described in the books wouldn't necessarily make the game easier, it would just need to be balanced correctly. Think about the opening battle in Fall of Reach: thousands of enemies vs a squad of five and a few tricks up the sleeve.

I'd love to do some of the stuff that the Spartans do in the books at least. Incredible sniping capabilities like Linda, or over the top speed and agility like Kelly (I think it was Kelly).

Foman is awesome!

More like alot. Both what Samus Aran and Master Chief did it that was exaggerated.

I get the idea, the Spartans in Halo wars were able to jump and make some carzy moves, the Spartans in Halo reach must do something like it... I think that Bungie staff already done all that and are laughing about this...

My troll sense is tingling.

The reason was for gameplay reasons, I can't imagine playing a whole FPS like that.

I can't imagine that you actually passed grammar class?

I have been thinking the same thing myself for a few days now. Maybe now we might be able to use the Spartans to their full extent.

=)

I believe that you can be a fan of all shooters,
COD, Halo, Gears of War,
I am a fanboy of all three, by the way,

Super human feats? I only wish I could
*Kills someone that has a battle rifle while holding an SMG*
But seriously, great Idea, but these sorta "superhuman" feats of strength should be hard to pull off.

Could you possibly mean hold a turret with one hand... like in the BANNER??? and they could all run upwards of 50 KMH, Kelly could run even faster though. I think maybe making a button mashing combination required to initiate and or sustain these super moves would be a perfect way of balancing them. And they could even require to be memorized, instead of onscreen press this button now types of things.

I think halo reach could definately take a few lessons from crysis. Spartans should be quite as fast possibly but it would be nice to feel like...well a super soldier, not just some beefed up marine.
The halo wars spartan action cutscene really demenstrates what you're trying to say here is the link.

Yes that will be extremely easy to do what you could have also added was that they could finally do a campaign mission where you are in space but not like in space on a ship I mean in space and you will have the ability to use those perks that your MJOLNIR Mark VI armor has to offer what I mean is you never get to use all of the spartan capabilities just like you said.
