My troll sense is tingling.

Here's the link to prove it, apologies if I sounded like an idiot.

Proud frenchie, elite fan, anthro artist not hellbent on yiff convention/pics/whatever, mature and intelligent forum guy, 4chaner, halo 2 lover and halo 3 hater.

1 - MC goes back in time with the knowledge of how the oncoming events, and can act accordingly, changing the storyline. doing so, he'll not go on the ark, and he'll not be able to go back in time to change the course of the events. now go to part 2.

2 so MC DOES go on the ark, and travels back in time, right? doing so, he does go back in time. read part 1 again.

it's an impossible endless loop.

i spose its kinda plausible i mean if you look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2g65jL3HDg this guy explains how all the zelda storys actually fit together. Now if u have played the zelda games youl realise none of them seem linked at all but this guy makes sense of it all. If theres sense made of all that. then im pretty sure sense could be made of time jumping for Halo :P

Signatures are for squares.

You want to know what will shut all the time travel theory's up?

Reach is confirmed to be a PREQUEL, if chief went back in "time" then it would be considered a Sequel, because it is continuing Chiefs story. Not only that, but the teaser says, "From the beginning you know the end" If Chief went back in time, then he would alter everything that happened, so no, we wouldn't know the end.

....The rules of physics don't apply in slipspace. The rule of time is constant.

There has been time travel in Halo, believe it or not. It was one of the effects of that Forerunner crystal found in First Strike, Although that just slowed time down. So I guess it really wasn't time travel just time manipulation.

Anyway, refer to my previous post.

You should be asking yourself this question.

If MC travels back in time to Reach, as soon as he hits the COM channel and says, "This is Spartan-117." The other MC is going to say, "Who is this?"

There is not going to be 2 Master Chief's and 2 Cortana's. Sorry to break your bubble, bub, but also like other people are saying...get over it...

Anyone know why these people are just fixed on time travel and that it has to happen? Quite frankly I wouldn't buy the game if it had that in the story line. It would turn Halo into Failo.

The planets don't even look the same; the cities on Reach are on the coasts, so they form around the ocean. The "Legendary planet" cities don't form around anything, in fact, they are perfect circles. So no.

Not really, there will still be the other copy of him that did not go back in time that belongs in that time period, so he can still act on what he knows knowing that he will go back in time simply because he is there.

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

Yes, seriously, what happened to common sense....IN YOUR POST?! Common sense=knowing that there wont be any stupid time travel. It's confusing as hell for people who dont understand the story well, and it would destroy the storyline already set up from the past 3 halo games. Besides, how the future is now in halo turned out good in the end, so why would bungie have MC go back in time? The whole theory is dumb as hell.

In other words, The Time Traveling MC would be in an endless loop. Untill he dies, which he would out of age. Then there's the problem with time travel. He has to do it over and over again, meaning that there will be more and more MCs there at the same time. Get it?

Also, IF there was timetravel, it was by mistake, so how will MC know how to travel back? Digging up the Ark, getting there, and then by some means travel back in time? The portal got cut of because of the powersupply holding up that side of the portal exploded.

If Chief goes back in time, he can alter that timeline in such a way that the outcome will be completely different. He knows what's going to happen and when, so they can prepare accordingly, and a trip to the Ark might not be needed.

There are way to many factors and stuff about timetravel it would be best left out.

I for one will drop Halo if timetravel will be a part of it.

click it you know you want to

if the mc went back in time the entire halo story line would be screwed up. fif someone where to go back in time they would go to an alternate universe, so he is effectivly dead in our universe, but has gone to a universe where mabye grunts take the place of elites in the covenant and humans are still in the sol system(this is the system in which we reside in)or we have nuked ourselfs back in the cold war, so noone would of been alive to create halo or even an xbox or even mabye land on the moon.

Subject: Time travel denied by Joe Staten.

They used Time Travel in Marathon Infinity. I don't think they would use it again at this moment. Especially with all the speculation. The Ark went from being an underground moment in campaign to a portal to another place. I'm pretty sure they want to leave the future open for other games in the same universe. I don't see how sending Chief back in time to Reach accomplishes anything.
