I do not need a sig...you'll know it was me

How many times have you seen a enemey on say, avalance, or another map whith out easy locations to name i.e. The Pitts sword room. With a compas we'd be able to say to the team, enemey at N or enemey at 45 degrees.
Why could we not have a digtal compas right at the bottom of the screen?

Of all the gadgets and HUD info the spartans have, why did the UNSC not think to add a compas?

What do you guys think?

"If you push this button. Someone. Somewhere will die.

BUT.

You will, hey wait! Didn't you wanna hear what you'd get first!"

I'm pretty sure there's already a compass on the AR, but it's doesn't give direction, so, to heck with that.

That would be useful, not neccesary but it definately wouldn't hurt.

Yeah but you got to think that a lot of people don't know how to use a compass. But yeah I agree it wouldn't hurt a bit.

ODST: Sniper. Third floor, left.
ODST 2: Here. *raises sniper rifle* Lemme give em' my welcome to Earth gift basket.

BAD@$$!

Well, your enemy may be 45 degrees north from your position, but your teammates are generally not standing behind you, facing the same direction.

If violets are blue, then what colour is violet?

You want a compass on a Ring world?

I must admit it's more for teamwork players. I always play in a group, we'd all find it handy. i think clans would also make good use of it because they do stick together.

You want a compass on a Ring world?

Reach couldn't possibly have Halo included in it. It occurs in the Halo universe, but not on an actual Halo. Up spin = North, Down-spin = South; East and West are normal.

This is true. However, on a Ring world, you would need magnetic poles.

Not quite. You would just need to figure out which way it spins. Right of Up-spin is East, and left would be West.

But a compass works by pointing to the magnetic poles, not by pointing in the direction you choose to call North.

Right. It wouldn't be a normal compass of course. It would measure momentum or rotation or something. Not sure what to call it, but you would most likely use the same directional terms, although a compass would most likely be rendered useless due to the fact that the entire core of the ring is metal and probably magnetized.

Right. But back on topic. If Reach is to have multiplayer similar to Halo 3, I would like to see every map have base indicators similar to the ones we see on Sandbox. Make the bases appear much more obvious from the outside and from a distance.

Vancouver BC, Canada.

I don't think a digital compass fits Halo that much.

The device has been modified....

How about we give the Spartans an iPhone 3G S *with built in compass* XD

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Yeah, damn right, where is my compas?! Its really annoying to have to switch to the AR everytime I want to know where Threshold is. Why not have the compas somewhere on the HUD? It would be even more interesting if one could change the point of compas in the options meny depending on the level, planet etc. I love unnecessary options! :)

That would be useful, not necessary but it definitely wouldn't hurt.

The pointer on the Assault Rifle aims north.
