Subject: Lack of non-american voice actors in Halo

One thing I'venoticed in Bungies games thus far in the Halo trilogy is a serious lack of non-american accents? What gives? They're nearly all American (or Canadian) - the only exception I can think of being Jonathon Ross, who has a tiny part as an unseen extra. Especially since a fair part of the game takes place in Africa, and they miss the chance to use one of, if not the greatest accent, South African.

I hope this is going to be changed with Reach. The Spartans are meant to be the ideal genetic candidates, I'm going to be miffed if we end up with the vast majority of them all being American. You would think that they'd be taken from all around the world, and this is what the names used in the books appear to suggest (as well as other indications).

Though they've used a strong Russian voice for one of the spartans in the teaser, so it's possible that they may already plan on fixing this.

There were Australian Marines in Halo 2 (not sure about 3), so it's not all Americans. I'd like if they had a main character in the game not an American.

From what I remember, there are actually quite a few Canadian actors in Halo 3...

404-E-132-4FE274A - 'Serenity'

Buck and Dare are both voiced by Canadians, (Both also prominent actors) Not sure about any others though.

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

I'm quite sure that Bungie will have characters sound just like they want them to. Although I must agree that some ethnic diversity would be a cool new approach.

I am a penguin. Every day I boogie on down to the water, and eat fish. Once, while fishing in the deepest depths, I saw great Cthulhu... And he said to me "Shine, to thine own self be true. They can't tell you what to do once you've gone guru." Also, I should tell you, "slide".

There is no nations in the Halo universe in 2500+ they're all united as the UNSC the only differences are the planets, Earth, Reach, Eridanus.... the main language is English still. And btw "Though they've used a strong Russian voice for one of the spartans in the teaser, so it's possible that they may already plan on fixing this."
Yep, every accent except american is plain BAD!!!!
[/sarcasm]

Man what? I meant fix the lack of diversity, not the accent used. Strong in a good sense.

p.s. totally mentioned canadians being present in the first post.

Terrence Stamp (the Prophet of Truth in Halo 3) is British. As well, Robin Atkin Downes (the Prophet of Regret) is British and Hamilton Camp (the Prophet of Mercy) was a British-born American who still had a British accent.

If you read the Halo books you would realize that there are tons of different races which would obviosly mean they wouldnt have an american accent. For example on all the space ships they have in the books you probable won't find one ship that doesn't have a Japanese actor with the name Nakamoro and he/she is always a Lieutenant on the bridge taking comands from the Captain then plotting the correct projectory to activate the slipspace capacitors and so on.

Thats because in the future, all the people who aren't american will be stuck on plain old earth because of their lack of intestinal fortitude. Of course socialist obama wants to change that by making us weak pansy european-style govt.

BTW- Bungie=from america. They know what the deal is

It's a'holes like you that make other nations hate our nation. I mean I have nothing wrong with nationalism, but people like you go too far (though I do admit I am very leary of Obama). Also, George Lucas is American yet Star Wars has too many British actors to count.

Or was this sarcasm?

slm a.q.

The Halo Universe does not just exist in America. Think of it this way, what if there is Army of Earth, would it be majorly USA?
