Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

I'm not really hoping for voice actors that aren't from America, I'm just hoping for more voice actors in general.

I'm quite sure that Bungie will have characters sound just like they want them to. Although I must agree that some ethnic diversity would be a cool new approach.

Odd, considering on halo 1 and 2, their was a wide diversity of different races, for example,

In Halo CE, their were marines with a austrailian accent, one with a spanish accent, another with a irish/scottish accent, (sorry, I don't know the voice accent difference between the two) a sergeant with a american accent, and good old sergeant johnson with his african accent.

In Halo 2, all the Marine voice actors return, with an addition of four more.

One new Marine had a african accent, another had a American/European accent, who sounded almost like a comedian. The last two are female marines, both had a american accent.

In not sure what happened in Halo 3 however.

O hai

Being an american company, in an american dominated world, with an american marine contingency being played, can you blame them?

There was an Aussie Marine in all the games (Us Aussie's were EVERYWHERE in Halo:CE ;)
but sadly, because Bungie is an American based company, they can't find many over seas voice actors.

They have to use people that were originally from a different country, exactly why the Aussie Marine, doesn't actually sound Aussie, he's just using the stereotype that most people beleive is how we talk. When we don't.

I think that they should hire actors that are very recently from their country. I think a mix of Russian, English, Spanish, Japanesse and American would be great, they all sound different, and give a sense of cultural diveresity.

But that's just my opinion...

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

I still don't see what benefits or downsides a game would have if it has american voice actors or not.

Glad that Halo 3 garbage is dead, thanks to Reach.
Unfreakenbelievable!!

Are you sure you want this? American entertainment has a tendency to use non-American actors as comedy relief. The only way around that is to have enough non-American actors where the attention is not drawn to a certain individual because of an English or other accent.

Personally, as an American, I think accents distract from the dialogue. However, people from other countries could think the same about American actors. So, I don't know.

But, I like how a lot of non-Americans speak. American speakers, on the other hand, is a different story. :)
