If you're running a mac, just hit apple+control+shift+3. that takes a screenshot and deposits it on the desktop.

paint reduces the image quality, if you have photoshop, use that to convert them to jpg.

Plus paint takes forever - and it out of the question in multiplayer.

I thought that the command was suposed to save them automatically also as you do, but for some reason the screen shots save as a TGA file, and I have no idea what that is or how to view it. Help please

Hi, sorry Legs, but I can't agree.
I have been using PrtSc+ Paint for a long time, even in MP Halo. Never had any problems, of course, I will be AFK for a few seconds to paste into Paint, but it's not that long. You can always wait until a spawn point before Alt+Tab, and judging by the number of times I'm killed I don't have to wait too long.!!
Having 1GB Ram helps as well .........;-)

What are the negative side-effects to fraps - any cheat loopholes?

  • 06.15.2005 10:14 AM PDT

* Pr: ĭnʹtərnĕts: "I hear there's rumors on the uh (pause), Internets...

Negative side effects of Fraps is that you can only take .BMP images in the free version, but I have the registered version and I do .jpg.

the exact command line argument that you add for screenshots is "-screenshot", and "-console" for console. Whenever you press the print-screen key, a picture in some weird format that isn't a common one like jpeg and bmp is saved in a folder called "screenshots" in the halo folder (something like "C:/ProgramFiles/Microsoft Games/Halo"). You do not need to minimize or alt-tab out every time you press print-screen, and there isn't a limit to how many screenshots you can save. However, when you exit halo and start it again, new screenshots that are taken will overwrite the screenshots already saved in the "screenshots" folder. So, move your screenshots to a different folder when you are done.
