Ok so i dont remember anyone looking up what SENTRYWALK is so i did SENTRY is defined as A guard, especially a soldier posted at a given spot to prevent the passage of unauthorized persons So this mission to me was just a guard mission.

So perhaps the enkidu AI was embedded with something that was meant to take over the forerunner structure and guard it after it got inside. Was this ONIs doing? Speculation maybe...

I haven't read all the posts,so don't jump on me.Here's waht I think.JD just landed (again,to the sentence "You've made it back").He meets with Enkidu at the Forerunner facility. The Marines that survived were taken by the Flood, and put in a room, just like in Halo, because Enkidu said "No friends here either." The game probably had JD go to the room where the Flood were, because of the "company".The last part about the honor of the gods, was probably the Forerunners or who ever was in the facility last, and JD was about to get killed.

With each letter, more pieces fall in. We know that the reference to friends were certainly to that of the Covenant. I don't know how it could be any clearer, either. We should have been saying that from the beginning, when the term friend was first used. So, in a cold dat in hell, when Endiku says, No wonder you keep making such interesting friends. Perhaps I should arrange another play-date with them? I've heard that it stimulates the intellect, it was definetly a reference to the boarding party send on the Lebanon that kept JD back on the ship. Now look closer. Closer. No, closer. "Perhaps I should arrange another play-date." Read whatever you want into it, but Endiku just took credit for the Covenant attack on the Lebanon.

Am I the only one who isn't missing the sarcasim? Remember in Halo, when they find the dead elite? "Friend of yours?" "No. We just met..." When I'm playing a game, and the opponents show up, I normally turn to another player and go "Our friends are back." The other player is still my friend, but the opponents and us are about to play a nice, friendly game of "kill each other dead." It's a figure of speech.

I still stand by my thought that he hasn't become the enemy. He just gained a sense of humor. Also, I re-read Blast From the Past, and now that I think about it, we may be reading TOO much into it. It's starting to sound to me like it may be along the following lines:

"I hate people who don't listen. I told the human's not to go here and do this after I had my consciousness expanded, but did they listen? Nooooooooooo. Now they're dead. Gal dangit. I actually feel kind of bad for them."

But why smile at the end? Well, I have theories for that as well, but my headache is still haunting me, and I need to lay down. Sheesh. I swear, this mystery is bad for my health. ;)

i still think Enkidu is just a A.I., Maybe a covenant A.I. like the one that screws up in first strike and i stick by my decision

ZK315,

Enkidu could have arranged the first covenant attack, but maybe not. Maybe with using the term "another", she is just arranging the second attack. Its just not that clear that she is taking responsiblity for the first. Besides, the Frigate was at Frigid before the Lebanon, right? We also know that they were there digging on that glacier, not to meet the Lebanon and fight.

I agree with you completely, it was most likely just sarcasm. I reckon that sense of humor came from rampancy. And I'm sure someone will want to analyze why he chooses the term "friends." Well it has nothing to do with merging of a forerunner AI or confusion.

We seem to be forgetting that he thinks he's the mythological figure, Enkidu. Enkidu was raised in the winlderness. You know, lions and tigers and bears (oh, my). Call me crazy, go ahead I'm just like Yoozel in that respect, but when you grow up like that you begin to think of things like daily life and death fights as fun. And that's that, I think...Maybe.

does cortana say this to the cheif in halo? If so, then this is more proof pointing us in the direction that Enkidu is Cortana. She refers to the covenant then as "friends" and now she refers to them here as "friends". A commonality between the two identities.

Rest is for panzies. The Mystery is the All. The Mystery is our friend.

Anyway, Zk315, thank you. We've been analyzing who and what he is, without taking into account what his personality has become. He is a wild man that has been civilized. He weeps for his fleshy friend.

Weep for us all, if this is going where I think it is. That much, though, I am keeping secret. I don't want to look like a fool if I'm wrong, so I'll keep my speculation to the present, and what's going on and what has gone on.

to respond to few and far betweens statements... sure she did not take the rock with her but she did take kelly.... also what about ackerson's secret project.... and didnt someone say somewhere in the novels that mendez was going to train the next batch of spartans.. so whos to say that this JD character (a spartanII) is beingtalked to by just a better version of the master chief (spartan III)

just a thought

All valid but one, when mendez was going to train the next batch of spartans it was another batch of spartan II's. This is backed up by the fact that when all the remaining spartans where gathered on the P.O.A., MC said that he had not seen most of them during training. Soo they where Mendezes other batches.

No, he said he hadn't seen them since training. The spartans were split and sent on various missions.

Oh, sorry, my bad

It sounds to me that the Lebanon just happened to find the covenant ship on its patrol. Remember that is what they were doing, a patrol. Now it could be that E. somehow is taking credit for finding and starting the fight with the covie ship. What do you think? i could be far off

I never said that he actually did arrange the attacks, but to me, it couldn't be more clear that in his rampancy he is taking credit for the boarding party getting to the Lebanon. It's clear he didn't, but I will wager that he thinks he did. Oh dear. Were you expecting company? I think your friends have That has an air of familiarity to it. Almost like he talked about them before. No wonder you keep making such interesting friends. And so on an so forth...

But that's not the point of the post. It got me thinking. Captain Mathers stayed on the Lebanon to make repairs, which is why it was slingshoting in the first place, to give time. But then it went to hell, since their abandoning the ship. What was it? I would guess Covenant survivors mayhap. Definetly not CCS cruiser. Those are just coming now. So what was it? Someone explained the behavior of M stars, and maybe the lightshow was indeed solar flares, casuing considerable damage to the Lebanon, beyond repair. What a pretty trail you left in the sky. Just like a falling star. Hmm, that's not good. I don't think UNSC capital ships are suppossed to leave trails. This leaves the all interesting question. Who is alive and who is dead. The skeleton crew and Cpatain Mathers may be dead or alive. Lifepods are to only be released on his orders, but if he's dead, it wouldn't matter much.

Seems like SENTRYWALK went straight to hell.

Does anyone else think they might be on the grunt home world? We know it is cold and full of methane gas, this would explain why there is a higher oxygen level in the structure.

Does anyone else think that this could be an AI on a Hell Jumper or some unit inferior to a Spartan. I made a post a page back but no one has acknowledged it.

ZK315,

I'm convinced now that you have no idea what you are talking about in regards to what is going on. You said, quoting the most recent Enkidu terminal:

That wasn't the Lebanon leaving the trail in the sky. It was the life boat. If you are going to speculate please get the facts right because if you don't, then we end up just taking two steps back.

You are wrong, my friend. The last transmission came to Lifeboat Bay C Terminal, inside the UNSC Lebanon. JD has not left yet. Therefore, it was the Lebanon Endiku is describing.
