This would also explain why E. (possibly 343/Ekindu) says Thats right, i was a man, although i dont i think i could wear skin anymore.

He doesn't say he "was" a man, he says "oh, that's right, you don't consider me a man", and when he says he doesn't think he'd fit into the skin anymore, i think he means that, as an ai, he could have fit his intelligence in a human before, but now that he's been "corrupted" (or whatever) he now believes his intelligence is too vast to be confined in a human.

No it means that he used to be the mythological figure, Endiku. Now, he's an AI and isn't tangable anymore. You're reading too much into this skin thing. It's just like how Cortana said, "if I still had fingers, they'd be crossed right now." Just her situation was a tad bit different.

Pick up The Flood in the Halo books. I can't remember the name of the AI, but he was named after a Lord in history, and made references to said Lord as if he were that Lord. Royally ticked off the Helljumper he was assigned to.

His name was Wellsley, I think, and he thought he was the famous Duke that he is named after. Ya, Major Silva was the one he was assigned to, and he always got annoyed with the AI.

Just wanted to fill in the blanks for ya.

Terminal 14 is up under a new heading: "Credo In Un Dio Crudel". Don't know what that means, but go check it out!

Yep, now they've gone and done something bad. And Endiku is pretty pissed. All evidence still points to the flood, especially that part about the breaking of the seals. He even mentions that the Covenant tried to warn the humans i their own clumsy way.

Let's see, cautery (meta tag) is esentially searing off the flesh to close up a wound. I'd imagine in this context it means killing those infected to save the rest. Also, "very long term disposal risks Hansard" probably refers to, well I'm not sure. Hansard is the official precedings of a parliment. Not sure exactly how that fits in to the rest.

Credo In Un Dio Crudel means,I believe in a cruel God. It's from Otello, an Itallian Opera based off a play by Shakespere called Othello.

Other than that, eveything is pretty much a given. Oh, yeah, did anyone mention that the new Endiku Terminal is up yet?

The title is spanish for "Creed in gave crude" which really means that creed is what is given to crudeness.

But I like the Italian version better: "Creed in a raw God" or Creed in a new God. ... Interesting.
Whatever you want to make of that be my guest.

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Your translation seems a little off.

Credo In Un Dio Crudel
Belief In A Cruel God

It is also a song from the Italian opera, Otello by Giuseppe Verdi.

Maybe this is the third stage of rampancy. Enkidu could be envioius of the power either the Forerunners had to contain the Flood or in the Flood itself.

Look at the source file very long term disposal risks Hansard. Hansard is the name given to transcripts of parliamentary proceedings.

Just a thought... Everyone seems to think they've gotten into the Flood, but in #14, Enkidu references wires, and in the console with the captain, they were talking about Enkidu not having full control over the data network, so what if JD's 'friends' are the other marines, and JD just cut the wires connecting Enkidu to the lower data networks? That would really piss Enkidu, because there are Covenant down there, and a weapons locker, and he wouldn't have any clue what was going on. He would also then have to 'mop up' with his 'spiffy new repair drones'.

Also of note, the whole skin thing could be because the AIs are derrived from the human brain, so they might have some sort of sense of having skin, after all, humans are born knowing that they have bodies, so it seems reasonable that a mirroro of the brain would have certain instincts right?

EDIT
Oh, also, how does the new 'chapter' tie in to the stages of rampancy? If it is following the pattern, then it should be the third and final in the stages of transition from sanity to insanity. It would be interesting to find out if this is the case.

"Creed in a raw God" or Creed in a new God.

No, no, no. It's the famous line, "I believe in a cruel God." Like I said, from Otello. Since it's an expression, it can't be translated directly. Besides, that makes more sense. Waking up is hard to do parodies the song Breaking Up is Hard to Do by the Four Seasons. Appetite for Destruction comes from the Guns 'N Roses album title. And Credo In Un Dio Crude is Iago's aria from Otello.

Well here are the lyrics to the song Seven Sphere of Dante's Inferno. It has a lot of greek mythology stuff so im pretty sure it has some answers.

Leave the vestibule of Hell
And enter its highest sphere
Never have sinned, but unbelieving
The place of the unbaptized children

Credo in un Dio crudel (2x)

Meet Minos the judge of the dead
Descend the slope to the second sphere
Swarms of people flying in the sky
They have lived in voluptuousness
In the swamp and shower of hail, the gluttons
Hoarders and prodigals fighting eachother
Deeper and deeper in the slough
The furious and stubbons are swearing
The worst sinners in this sphere
Phlegyas brings you to the center
Reek of excrements, smoke, rot and pestilence
Groans, whimper, croak and swear

Reach Acheron the sea of boiling blood
Where murderers and torturers are punished
Followed by the forest of the suicides
Each tree containing the soul of a dead
In a burning sand-desert, snowing fire flakes
Homo-blam!-s, -blam!-s, sodomists, unnatural love

Credo in un Dio crudel (2x)

Reek of excrements, smoke, rot and pestilence
Groans, whimper, croak and swear

Reach Acheron the sea of boiling blood
Where murderers and torturers are punished
Followed by the forest of the suicides
Each tree containing the soul of a dead
In a burning sand-desert, snowing fire flakes
Homo-blam!-s, -blam!-s, sodomists, unnatural love

Procurer and seducer in the first pit
Whipped by black horned demons
Flatterer in the next hole
A river of excrements, a pit full of -blam!-
Corrupt, corruptible, thief, faker
All have their own pools of blood

Leave the vestibule of Hell
And enter its highest sphere

Credo in un Dio crudel

4(e)9(L)2(y)3 (r)8(i)0(c)0(s)3 (.)0(n)8(e)0(t)4

Im not sure what the nuber and letters in the end mean but im sure you people can figure it out. Oh yeah and this song is by Kadath. Not sure what he/she/it is but once again you guys can figure it out.

not a bad prediction. I'm just gonna listen to see what you guys think. I still agree with the flood idea, but this new theory seems fun.

OR IS IT...?

Dude read the thread Dude...

In my opinion this could still be the Flood - JD seems to have cut some wires to get through a sealed door (and caused a mess), then his friends are rumaging around in the sealed room (anything reminding you of Pvt. Jenkins home movies?), and JD is told to stop them by Enkidu...

I was hoping it wouldn't be the Flood, but every terminal seems to draw us closer...

That was my point - another option would be the data network, and knowing Bungie, that's a viable option as they never like to do things the same twice. (No wonder they're games are so good.)

I apologize for the mistakes, Italian wasn't my language de facto when I took a second language, it's mostly what I picked up and I knew my translation was screwy but semi-useful. As for the spanish, it's overly rusty and I apologize for that as well.

You guys, haven't you ever heard of blindly cutting wires? It's not literal, it's an expression. It refers to someone attempting to diffuse an explosive and just taking a guess as to which wires should be snipped, not considering that it could explode with the wrong wires. It basically means that JD is recklessly playing with fire.

PS If it turns out I'm right, I'm gonna rub it in your face. :p

i do think they have found more flood.

i agree that i was glad to be done with the flood in HALO, but i guess we will see more of them in HALO 2.

as long as the story continues to be smooth! :)

but now that he's been "corrupted" (or whatever) he now believes his intelligence is too vast to be confined in a human.

yup - and this is similar to durandal's behavior after he went rampant. it would be interesting if E hooked up or went rampant after joining a similar ancient AI.

and where is the installation's keeper like spark was for the initial HALO. or was this an incomplete/ intial HALO which was abandon.

Yeah, I hate the Flood, creepy lil buggers. But more than likely its them. The only other possibility I can think up right now is that they may have released (gasp) the Forerunners themselves?? Farfetched though, probably too much so. And as for the whole E gettin POed that they cut his wires and thats all, not likely. He talks about breaking seals and now 'that stuffs all over the place'. As we know all too well, those lil flood forms get everywhere and do so in a short order. And I really like that idea that the quakes or whatever are being caused by the Forerunners. Very intruiging, very onimous. Keep up the brainstorming!
