It's not garbage, it's a glorious puzzle. Just read the other 46 pages, and you'll understand it.

Subject: Enkidu - Cortana Letters Revisted?

It sounds to me like after reading these things that the UNSC ship lebanon and Akkid were defending a dwarf star system they engaged a Covenant friggate and won but one of the ships was damaged so the crew had to wake up from cryo-stasis (waking up is hard to do?) and the on ship AI had to be transfered off as per the cole protocall. I also belive that this fight came before Reach since one of the crew members in a communication says "We have no way of warning Fleet Command that the Covenant have been so close to Reach. ". So then the crew lands on the planet finds a Forerunner structure uses a code breaking tool to get into the structure (I'm thinking like the one they used on halo to get into the flood chamber) the then used the ship AI that they took with them to interface with the forerunner computers that they found. I think that the AI was taken over by another AI much like GS and that is why he was babbling. The humans abandon by their AI and unable to understand it go to the tunnels much like on halo. Meanwhile the Covenent arrive with reinforcements and begin drilling much like on reach. The humans not fully understanding the tremmors go searching for a weapon to fight the Covies but find the flood instead, the AI tried to warn them but the humans disreagarded it either as insane or just incoherent babble. The humans are now trying to send up someone to recon the Covenent so they can mount an offensive. This is just what I understood of it. If you already knew this then I apoligize for the post.

heh heh. Well that's a decent synopsis of it all, Echo

Now, for your next assignment. You must analyze the information on said webpage, conclude what literary referances are made, what they mean, hypothesize on the future of John Doe and write a 2+ page paper, single spaced no greater than 14pt font. I will expect it on my desk by Wednesday.

Wow, I'd probably post something useful if this topic wasn't so long. If I said something useful I'd probably be blasted for saying something that was said before. I don't have the patience to read through forty something pages of this stuff. Maybe someone should think about either making a new topic to re-organize or either putting it all on a web page or something to make it easier to catch up with.

I really hope this stuff is from Bungie, but even if it's not, it's still a great work of fan fiction.

I'm disappointed and finally believe that it is now fan fiction unfortunately. Bungie wouldn't give away something like that unless it REALLY led up to something but it's just a fairly unoriginal conscript now. It was great while it lasted though.

Funnily enough, it isn't. From last year's E3 vid, we know that HALO 2 uses the MC, but so why not use this Enkidu stuff to set up some of the backstory for part Deuce? For instance, what if the covenant or the flood win on Frigid, and launch towards Earth? What if Frigid is where the covenant find the new "secret character" for HALO 2? The possibilities are endless, and that makes me happy. I seriously doubt it is fanfic, if only because of the hosting sites. It's hard to believe that Bungie just gives those sites away to any fanfic, regardless of quality. Besides, it makes perfect sense for Bungie to release this stuff now, so we don't get bored out of our minds waiting for this year's E3, or studying for finals.

And btw, much of the stuff posted on the last 4 pages has been said literally 30 pages ago. I know that no one intends to do this, but PLEASE read this entire thread before posting, and just wasting everyone's time. If you don't have the patience to read all 48 pages, then either don't post, or at least stop every couple of pages and read some of the long posts, so you understand all that we have "accomplished".

I'm in total agreement... this latest turn of events really didn't do it for me. But I'm still going to hang around to find out who did this.

The main difference between Halo and Enkidu so far seems to be that there were cadavers rather than spores.

My take on this is that Frigid was around before Halo. The forerunners had a outpost on Frigid when there was a flood outbreak... Maybe they were developing the flood, maybe they were a centre for disese control... After the outbreak the forunners contained the flood using sentinals, and sealed them in the "weapons cache". Then the Forerunners evacuated Frigid, which would explain why it looked like they left in a hurry. Following the events on Frigid the Forerunner developed the Halo defense system...

Bungie can't give away that space for fanfic because they don't own it. Bungie.org are the people who own it, and they are not affiliated with Bungie or Bungie.net. This has all been said before, but I'm repeating it to quash rumors...

Bungie.org has many sites halo.bungie.org, marathon.bungie.org, enkidu.bungie.org. In fact something many of you seem to look over is that Bugie.org didn't have to register another website with smallbits, www, halo, marathon, and enkidu are just names or ailiases for servers within the Bungie.org domain.

Bungie.org may have hosted the terminals at Bungie's request, the Cortana letters were sent to Hamish at marathon.bungie.org. But they could also be a work of fanfic by the Bungie.org crew...

Honestly, did you think that they were going to introduce a brand new character in these Endiku Terminals for a few rampant fans? You know, Bungie doesn't work like that. It would be a massive pain in the ass to then go back and introduce them in the second game, and take away from the cool suprises. I mean, think back to the Cortana letters. Did they reveal anything about Halo at the time. Actually, no. Most people thought it was Marathon Four. They didn't know what a hybrid war machine was. This is just something created to revisit the Cortana letters. That makes it special, but they work just like the Cortana letters too. Reveal stuff without revealing stuff. Then look at Halo. They keep saying that people are going to go back after Halo 2 is released and notice how a bunch of stuff fit together. Just looking at Halo, do we know what it is? No, not at all. We don't have a clue. Just because it can't be seen doesn't mean it's not there. And this is a story, a story leading up to something. It's not the flood. It's something else. Just because they made an appearence everyone starts pissing and moaning, "Oh, no. Flood. Why would Bungie put Flood in a forerunner structure when all the evidence pointed to it? How could they do that? It's so unoriginal." Well, being so caught up in that, most of you missed something. First of all, there were corpses already behind the seal when the humans opened it. And no one knows what it was. You know what, this could be the introduction of your new race you all wanted. But we just won't know until we get to the game.

But let's see where this is going with the tremors before we start complaining, shall we?

Its definatly from 343GS. It talks about "...what a pretty trail you left in the sky." Its proboly refering to MCs life boat.

What we know about the "tremors"--

1) They dont match up with libration stress, which, as far as I can tell from a little preliminary research, has something to do with earthquakes or gravitational pull from something else (think tides caused by the moon)

2) They seem match up with waves of Conie reinforcements.

As my theo teacher would say, "Theres no such thing as coincidences" (and this most certainly applies to Bungie), so it is almost a certainty that they are related somehow.

Possible explanations:

1) Some form of Covenant transportion, i.e. grav lift.

2) A similar artifact to what was found in First Strike, something that messes up gravity (which could relate to above explanation)

3) Some type of weapon or defense mechanism....or maybe if Frigid is another installation, maybe it is activating itself similar to how 343GS popped up after the Flood were released

Or maybe I'm completely and totally wrong...

This isn't on Halo. It's not a fortress world (maybe). Halo has not even begun to occur yet. This is on the ice world, Frigid. And we all decided that the pretty trail in the sky was the UNSN Lebanon (Anyone who wants to dispute that go back to page 19 right now. I don't want to hear it until you've read up on the argument).

Sorry man, but you're really late. You should only discuss the newest one unless you really haver a great feel for the thread and know what's been said and debunked.

See this is why a new thread needs to be started, nobody wants to read through all of the pages. Don't take it out on him.

Ya I haven't read past the first page, the thread is way to long for anyone to post anything new and not know if it hasn't been posted. SO what someone(who has a lot of time on their hands) should organize all of the info into a giant list so I can read it without looking in 1200+posts to understand whats happening.

I'm interested not patient!
