Today, I recieved a email titled "You Were All Wrong About The Cortana Letters." I'm still confused as to why it was sent to me, but all it said was, "I would like it if you could post this for me, if possible." Now, I have no idea who it's from, or why it ended up in my inbox, but here it goes:Durandal's main goal at the end of Marathon was to achieve immortality,
and escape the closure of the universe, correct? Suppose he DID escape.
Suppose that universe molded into the Halo universe. Now, imagine if they
found Durandal in the exploration of the Inner Colonies and managed to
harness it, molding it to their will. So thereforth, the Halo and
Marathon universes are right next to each other in the line of closure.
So you have to wonder: Is Cortana Durandal trying to lay low? She/He/It
is manipulating Master Chief very well. And you might wonder, "Why would
she send Master Chief to eliminate the Flood?" Simple, the flood might
destroy the AI and the computer systems, causing Cortana to crash and
burn, as a matter of speaking. And it probably doesn't want to be alone
for the next THOUSANDS of years. So that is my theory. Cortana =
Durandal. The letters make this clear by stating many Durandal-esque
terms, as well as a mysterious message: I HAVE WON!
Which would assume Durandal won his prize.
Why couldn't they post this on their own, we'll never know...
