Oh I see now. That was the prologue. Well then that means E. is still there after 30 years. And JD has grandkids LOL. Guess that kinda proves hes not a spartan.

EDIT: Nevermind it says H.

I haven't noticed anyone posting about this at the bottom of "2551 Goodwill Tour Packet: UNSC Lebanon":

***JUMP PAD ACTIVATION INITIATION START***
***TRANSPORT WHEN READY***

Isn't that what the terminals in Marathon would say? Nice final tie in to those great games.

I did notice that, and it was kinda strange, because Halo was set in 2552, not 2584 as noted in the Ekidu Chronicles. (Name sounds cool, cause Im not sure what their calling it)

No, the entire Enkidu Transmission took place in 2552. The last transmission (the first prologue), which was also the epilogue showing that the humans survived on Frigid and JD lived a long happy life with grandchildren past the year 2584. All the rest is in 2552.

I will never lose my faith in Bungie after this. this proves that they care about the audience to their creations, not just the revenues. byt that i mean, would any other game company give their blessing to a Fanfic? to the author i have to say just this: "Bravo, i have never seen better". it is cool how somthing as simple as a small webpage can bring a whole community together to reach a common goal. Good job to all that participated. and, to sign off in typical Enkidu fashion,

Well, no one can complain, "fanfict" was in the source code from the very beginning. Because this was so well done, we all decided to ignore it. We were all pretty starved for Halo 2 information as well which made us pretty desperate and gullible too. I'll admit though, because it was so convincing, I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't real. I had a blast with it though if nothing else. I learned a few things doing research and such and thats always good..

Anyways, now that the cat is out of the bag, I'm still sitting on the edge of my seat. Whats in the last terminal?! I also wonder, who was JD?

Ok, so they're obviously still on Frigid by 2580whatever, but what I want to know is if thats by choice or because no one has found them yet? And yeah, I'd still love to know who JD was. At least an official job description. And like everyone else has said, the write of these is definitely a freaking genius. I'd bet Bungie puts some sort of Easter Egg or something relating to this in Halo 2. Or at least mention them in a new Halo novel or something.

Yeah, I had a feeling it was fanfic. But it was still fun. Good job to Tartarus, God Halo Fan, Zk315, Ogun, and the others who posted so much. I tried to keep up with everyone and only ended posting like 10. Good job everyone. It has been fun.

Then why come into a forum called "Enkidu-Cortana Letters Revisted." Read about it. Look at the terminals. And post in here? Wouldn't that be a waste of your time? I mean you could be doing something better right?

I am sorry it was not me, but I do remeber it being mentioned. I have only played Marathon 1 on a Mac, but have read all the terminals at the marathon story page.

Almost. The purpose of a message board is to share opinions in a constructive way. It's alright to feel that the terminals sucked, but just saying that in a post doesn't accomplish anything worthwhile. Saying why you think they sucked, or how they could have been better, makes the posting worth the recycled electrons it's written on.

So what, in your opinion, went wrong with the terminals?

Too many pointless - and overly cryptic - mythological references. The metaphors were overdone as well and I was disappointed that many members of the Halo community were speculating about it (see previous seventy pages) as truth.

The E Terminals were obviously written to keep all of us die-hard fans on our toes.
I am sure I am not alone when I say that this thread ( and ALL the reaserch, theories, and
wild guesses) has been a very enjoyable experiance, fanfic or no. In addition, We have seen
more creativity on this thread than you cold find in all the rest of the 200+ Underground threads combined.
So, Thanx go out you Noctaurus, for your pittifull last minute attempt to ruin our fun.
