Judging by the Banner, It appears that there might be a possibility that this is game is class based. (sniper class, heavy class, specialist class etc.) If that is true, we can also expect a squad system. the good thing about the squad system is that we may respawn with a squad mate rather than the normal spawn point, which can be frustrating at times (spawn killing, spawning in front of the enemy, etc.)

Either that, or this will have the traditional Halo multi-player.

Thoughts and opinions?

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Halo =/= CoD.

Poorly thought out post is poorly thought out

Anyway, class based Halo would be pretty awesome, I think, it would be like Halo meets Battlefront.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Possible. To be honest, I thought Reach might be a multiplayer based game with little to no campaign when I first saw the trailer (something like an MMO).

An MMORPG - FPS blend would be extremely unique, it would be like if Fallout were MMO.

IT would definitely be a sight to behold, especially if Bungie made it.

Halo =/= Real life.
Fixed*

Honestly, though, after playing a bunch of Battlefield 1943... I would love for a squad-based Halo game. 5 classes: Heavy/Support, Recon/Stealth, Soldier/Assault, Close Range/Engineer, Sniper/Scout.

24 players minimum, maybe even up to 32 players. Spartans vs. Elites. Weapons would all be re-balanced so that they are equal, and no more dual wielding. Shields would add a nice feeling to the battlefield-style gameplay, and a stand-alone melee button would still be present, however, equip a combat knife/plasma dagger for an instant kill melee (no lunge, like on regular melee), or equip a melee weapon (sword, hammer) for a ranged melee with lunge (only weapons with lunge).

Would definitely need to be able to fly a Skyhawk and its not-yet-invented Covenant equivalent. And you could perhaps call in specialty NPCs, ex. Covenant could call in a Hunter pair to be dropped off by a grav lift while the Spartans could call in a Cyclops duo equipped with the ranged flamethrowers of Halo Wars to be dropped from a passing ship.

Im going to make a thread on this soon.

The SNARFINATOR!

>_< . . . really, why r u looking at me

The thought of Halo Reach having a class based system is interesting. I think that would add a very strategic feel to Halo, however doing so would also remove the sense of freedom one would have if they were not allowed to seamlessly go from one weapon type to another. Having to respawn with a teammate would, with out a doubt, lead to some very frustrating spawn kills in game.

They could make it so you spawn around a "base" or you could spawn with a member of your squad (like in BF 1943).

Halo =/= CoD.

Are Bnet kids really this ignorant?

CoD isn't the only class based game out there and it definitely wasn't the first.

There's probably no god. Now stop
worrying and get on with your life.

Squad commands in campaign would be Godly.

No, what makes Halo better (IMO) than Call of Duty is that everyone starts on a level playing field and must work for weapon pickups etc. You can have a class in Halo 3 by the way, it is determined by the way you play: Support gunner, Driver, Sniper, Assassin O_o (for example)

this is also how i feel

if they put this as a new gamemode in addition to normal halo matchmaking, then sure it would be very fun.
