The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I Hope the Elites will be how they were in Halo2, the models were really good and the armour looked more real to them, but in Halo3 the elites were hunched and i dont like their voices, i hope in Halo Reach they go back to the way they were in Halo CE, saying ''Woort Woort Woort'' and maybe make grunts more serius even tho i love what they say. What do you think?

I think I would be able to take Grunts more seriously if they barked and grunted rather than scream hilarious insults/comments/tactical analysis.

I hope they don't speak English in this game, they just seem less "alien".

Does anyone even read these?

Honestly, all I'm hoping for is that they say 'Wort! Wort! Wort!'

Seriously, the elites were meant to sound alien in halo ce, but most , if not all the words except for wort wort wort were in english or engrish, if you want some examples of their dialogue, I will post them on this post upon request.

All th elite dialogue in halo ce is actually sergeant johnsons dialogue reversed, but despite that factor, some of that reversed dialogue actually formed english words.

I think they should make the enemy a lot tougher because in the book there was all this sense of terror and confusion. Even the Grunts and Jackals were tough for the Marines. The Elites didn't appear in the book until a couple chapters after the Grunts and Jackals appeared.

I think that they made the elites hunched over because bungie didn't want them to be as tall as a brute. If you get an elite on a turrent you can see how tall they stand, but thats just my opinion.

Elites FTW!!! :D

Badass Elite units

If they bring back the old elites that try to kill you then all the noobs that have never played Halo CE or Halo 2 wont understand whats going on like with ODST no elites because it would confuse the noobs

Wrong, the reason why thry won't bring Elites in ODST is for the following factors,

First off, the elite AI was poorly developed, mainly because brutes were the focus, and elites were nothing more than an ally in halo 3.

And while elites should exist, mainly Elite Rangers, Elite Stealth Ossonas(elite spies who observe the humans, typically the elites inside buildings or tunnels during the slip space explosion), along with any other elite that was lost/trapped in or nearby New Mombasa.

However, the Brute AI in halo 3 wasn't anything near the standard Bungie initially promised, so logically, it makes more sense for the small ODST team to perfect their brutes, rather than recreate and update the elites of halo 2, along with programming the AI for them.

While ODST could be delayed for the elites, the game itself has been dated to be release, chances are the game itself is 95% finished, and most people would prefer no delay to the release of such game.

Back on topic, I would like elites to return to their former glory seen on halo CE and halo 2.

Who cares about the noobs. They are so new to this game, unlike all of us who have played Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3, and will just have to learn the story line or adapt. i have played halo all the way from Halo CE and like things to be in chronological order. If we are going prior to the events of CE, then Elites should act like they would act before CE. Such being, not being able to speak the entire human dialect. this is my die hard opinion.

I am the hand of fate!

The Elites in Halo 3 tick me off-they're hunched, they should weird, and they look to bulky. They need to be smarter, lankier, and Wort like there's no bloody tomorrow.

I liked the Elites from Halo 3. Their hunched, bulkier stature to me made them appear stronger and much more deadly than before.

As for their role in in the Halo games, I prefer to fight alongside them. As a warrior race, I think their code of conduct and sense of Honor makes for an interesting and pretty awesome side kick. They weren't evil, just misguided by the Prophets.

I think I remember reading somewhere that there will be no Elites in ODST, as this takes place when the Prophet of Truth began phasing out Elites and replacing them with Brutes.

I agree with the grunts.. And partly on the elite side.. They've been fighting humans so i hope there will be a little bit of english dialogue. But i would like some more alien touch to them.

Yeah, the Elites in Halo CE had the most alien feeling of them all, with their split jaw and reversed knees and there Woort Woort Woort.

I disagree, the Elites in Halo CE and Halo 2 looked allot more statuesque and proud, in Halo 3 they are hunched over like they're ashamed of fighing alongside the humans or something.

They need to stand tall like in Halo CE but they need more detailed armor.

They should go "Wort" because in reach they are less humanized

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Perhaps some Pre-cursor delinquent decided to fire his rapid evolution gun at the Elite race and forced their spines to slouch over during the course of CE to Halo 3's timeline. I think it's the best possible canonical explanation, ever, which would mean that Reach's Elites are tall and have relatively straight spinal structures again. Yay.
