THE ULTIMATE HALO THREAD!
Ive seen many threads containing wants, ideas, opinions, creations, useful tips, and awesome videos for Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach. Ive designed this thread to cater to everyones needs and to be updated with information as seen fit by the community as a whole. Enjoy.
Halo 3
First off.. Id like to start with a few helpful hints and tips Ive seen others post throughout the forums so you can have quick access to this information:

The Forge freature in this game has come a long way in its short lifetime in the Halo 3 world. I personally love it and spend quite a bit of time here. This thread created by Cheezball 42 discusses some great ideas that could possibly be impleneted into the forge feature in the future. Check it out and make sure to vote!
I will list some of my own opinions on this feature later. Check the Halo: Reach section.
I also suggested a while back that Bungie create an online "Webazine" for the frequent forum goers. Just an idea.. You can check it out here.
Another cool feature I would personally enjoy on the website is a "Map Creators Corner." I'd like to see a stage process including a few steps as to how Multiplayer maps are created and how ideas are put into action. Check my thread on this here
Amongst all the complaining, I found myself enjoying the Bungie vs The World playlist, even though I never got to play my map Backdraft. It was a lot of fun and thanks to everyone at Atlas for creating such wonderful maps and everyone else for playing and leaving your feedback! Cant wait for BDay '10!
Halo 3: ODST
I can not wait until this game drops in September. It will truly be an awesome experience playing as an ODST in a more stealth-like environment. Anyways, onto some business matters...
First off.. the new maps seen here look pretty sweet (scroll down).
Longshore seems to be everyones favorite so far.
Heretic is of course the remake to Halo 2's multiplayer map "Midship" which was one of my all time favorites.. (Dont forget Turf, Ivory Tower, and Lockout of course!) Looking forward to it.
Last but DEFINITELY not least is the often overlooked and underrated map Citadel. This map looks like it could be a LOT of fun and very addicting. I love small maps and think that once everyone has a chance to play it, their opinions will change.
I have created a "Premake" if you will, of "Citadel" I call Citahell. Check it out! Here's a pic for you to sink your teeth into. Get some practice!

Transportation
There has been a lot of speculation as to what new modes of transportation we will see in this game. Many assume its the garbage truck theory that the SI controls the garbage trucks in the city and that we will be able to ride them. Others think it might be a city train to travel quickly from destination to destination. Police cars anyone? Jetpack? <--- crosses fingers! More to come on this topic.
Firefight
I can not wait to play this new gametype in Halo 3: ODST. It has already become one of the most anticipated features of any new game coming out this year. My hat is off to those lucky few that got to play at E3 this year. Coming from their hands on experience and a some research redm0nkey and Juzz have given us a few previews to a couple of the Firefight maps we can use to get some hands on experience. Halo: Reach
Now we come to the most anticipated game of all time. New multiplayer, new campaign, new weapons, new fun, new pwnage, new everything!
There have been many threads like this and this containing hundreds of new ideas and wants that people would like to see added to Halo: Reach. I have also come up with a few of my own and added them to some other notable ideas here:
- Female voice/armor for the ladies
- Choose direction campaign (linky)
- More secrets in the game (new skulls, new items to find)
- Gold skulls that allow for infinite ammo, invincibility etc.. after youve beaten the game
- More map remakes Blood Gulch anyone?
- Vehicle to vehicle hijacking
- Custom armor / custom vehicles (build your own.. choose engine, wheels, type, speed, weight, guns, capacity, etc..
- A custom variant-only playlist
- More sandbox "flat" forgeable maps
- New equipment (c4/detonator)
- Option to join already in progress games and watch (monitor mode) in MM (limit # of monitors)
- Mass team games vs AI on multiplayer maps
- Play as ODSTs, marines, Brutes, Elites.. etc..
- Be able to pick up and use Jackal shields
- Water and outerspace maps (no gravity.. jetpacks?) Pelican battles..
- Customize groups for ODSTs in new Firefight (if returns). Pick starting weapon, armor, equipment, etc..
- CUSTOM GAMES SEARCHER!
- Edit character with points system (change height, speed, jumping ability, etc.. with a starting point system that decreases with every option).
- A Revival System
- Veto for map AND 2nd veto for gametype
- Controller layout customization (also more tweak of sensitivity 1-20?)
- Different types of ammo across map (Shotgun - slug, explosive, buckshot..etc..)
- Ranks to 100
- More destroyable map geography (also triggers/levers for doors, bridges, etc in MM maps)
- A clan system for tournaments within MM
- Be able to see through windshield of vehicles (press select.. etc)
- Squad based campaign - Can switch to other players in squad
Forge
Just a few additions to Cheezball42's thread:
- Forgable destroyable geography
- Place invisible barriers so you dont have to use up items for walls, ceilings, boundaries.. etc
- Draggable floor, ceiling, wall feature (reduces bumps)
- Add some forge only canvases via DLC (with all previous forge items + new ones)
These are just a few ideas I'd like to see added to the game.
Also, a "Trigger System" would be nice for a new gametype that would allow for achievement based gameplay. linky Suggestions?
How about a head tracking system for Halo: Reach with Natal. Here is an example with the Wii. I'd like to see Natal used in a way where you can have the option to use it or not. Parts where Natal could be used:
Opening doors/flipping swtiches, throwing grenades, beatdowns, etc.. Otherwise if you dont own the Natal system, that option would be off and you would play with your normal controller.
There has been talk of a new Xbox 720 and that Reach could be used on this system but I dont see that happening. There is a new engine everyone is talking about that Halo: Reach could use called CryEngine 3 but I dont see Bungie using someone elses engine. Who knows? Just speculation.

Anyways.. I will update this thread with peoples suggestions/ideas/vids for all 3 games. Thank you for reading and I hope I could provide some entertainment for a bit.
