*Warning! Wall of text, if you hate reading these, then don't bother posting, and China already called too, so don't bother posting that either.*

If you already know what I mean by 'pre'-deployed, then skip down to the next paragraph. What I mean by this is that the piece of equipment is already deployed, the example being the grav lift piece located in the scenery section of the forge pallet.

If any of you have noticed, we currently only have one piece, not two or three, just one piece of equipment that is already deployed when you look in the forge pallet, that one being the grav lift. Unfortunately, that is not the only piece of equipment that would do well when it is already deployed, we have many other pieces that would work well such as the ones I will list below.

Regenerator:
This piece can be used to recreate a Halo CE like feel by making players have to enter a specific room in order to bring back up their shields. It could also be used for infection games, such as (I just made this up, it does not exist, nor can it due to Halo's current forge style) one based on vampires in which the vampires have to stay inside a dark base to keep themselves alive otherwise their shields decay when they leave the building out into the light. (Whoever understands how this works gets a cookie)

Trip Mine:
This piece can be used to create booby traps on maps in which you would like to have certain people walk a correct way in order to get to the end. You could also use it in a machinima (sp?) scene in which you would like to have a minefield, kinda like you see in those WW2 movies.

Deployable Cover:
This piece should not even need mentioning as to why it should be pre-deployed. For those who have played Halo CE and Halo 2, you should understand. For those of you who have not played them (no clue why you would have not at least one of them played yet...), it is because there were many of them placed throughout the campaign (already deployed!) and provided cover for whoever was behind them. I have no clue why this was not included in Halo 3's forge due the fact I just stated.

Bubble Shield:
This piece could be used similarly like the Deployable Cover. 'nuff said.

Flare:
This piece really cannot be used strategically unless you are using them in a maze-like map in which you want to blind people who make a wrong turn into somewhere you don't want. This piece could be used in a way similar to placing all Color FX's to diminish anyone's sight, even though that would only work in a custom game.

Power Drainer:
This piece can be used like the Regenerator, just in reverse.

Radar Jammer:
There really are not any good reasons to have it 'pre'-deployed, other than for using it to jam motion sensors, in which it would just be better to have them turned off in the game options.

Any other ideas are welcome.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I agree. It would be cool to have these available for permanent placement.

Bringing you lame jokes, social awkwardness and the occasional good idea since 2008

I especially agree with the deployable cover, however you should not be able to shoot through the back side when it is pre-deployed.

Hopefully they will have that bug fixed in Reach.
