It matters which drive, I though it matters version of BIOS. I know that this is gonna get moved too. I thought I could get some posts on this topic real quick.

Yes, a CDR is just a blank CD. I wouldn't expect it to read prgrams like XP or Divx, but maybe Mp3 or .WAV files. So I can have good GTA music.

They started outting in new drives about a year ago. After recieving many complaints from disgruntled gamer about how they were unable to rip thier favorite music. I bought my box when they first came out so im out of luck, But two of my friend have these "upgraded" boxes, one is six months old, the other is like 2. They have absoultutly no problem with cdr's, and almost all of the new boxs are able to play them also. But ms hasnt completely stopped making the other ones, and there are still retail stores that have the old boxes. Alibet only rinky dink ones, but the golden oldies are still out there. To answer your question, yes, most every new box can play cdr's.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

You have to have a samsung dvd drive to read burned discs.

Ok thanks a lot. That helps to know the drive matters.

IT depends wich kind, how much data, and the standard type of drive in an Xbox.My Xbox Reads them when they are MEMOREX but it takes longer to copy.I think if you put a really basic format like:mp3 or other common media devices.

Well they do play the most xbox. My friend cody has a newer xbox, and he says it can read CDRs. I want to know if this is true, so like it can rip music. The dvd tray is much different, and the fan is noticably nicer.

Your title doesn't fit with the thread; this is a Flood topic

I got the new samsung drive, it rules, I love being able to rip music from Burned cd's..

Also, sometimes you can get a burned DVD to play, but not reliably.

If you just put the music on a cd-rw rather than a cdr than it makes it much easier for the xbox to read and you have a better chance of gettig it to work.

I think Mac is making a comeback. They are pretty damn good nowadays. They acutually think about the people instead of money.
