Yes....I like to camp..

I beleive the Spartan Laser is completely designed for anti vehicle purposes. Though it is used against enemies without a vehicle quite a bit. While devestating at medium to long range, the Spartan Laser is much harder to use at close range.

Given how much little ammo the Spartan Laser contains, it requires for the user to be a little less trigger happy. And when you are charging the Spartan Laser you have to keep your sights locked onto your target wich would be difficult because your target would most likely be moving.

Lets not forget that when you are charging the Spartan Laser, a small beam points to where you are aiming. With that small beam is also a noise that it makes, therefore warning your target that they're about to get lasered. To me the Spartan Laser is a decently challenging gun to use, and on that note, a fun weapon to use.

Thats stupid, warthogs can kill spartans in a matter of 3 seconds or less, thats not even enough time to charge a single laser shot.


Obviously it would have a reduced charge time. Also you can hit a warthog from the opposite of the map with a spartan laser, there's no way you could kill someone with a warthog from that range...at all.

I believe our favor UNSC anti everything laser needs a bit of a (mini)nurf. The current Halo 3 S.L. has 5 shots that's 5 shots that can shoot through almost anything and/or anybody with a extremely long range a skilled user of this devastating weapon and destroy an ALL the enemies vehicles in a matter of seconds giving them no chance whatsoever and no chance to recover making a fun and fair fight.

So this is what I recommend a slight change lower the Spartan Laser's "ammo" count from 5 to 3. Enough to take down an important enemy vehicle(remember this is supposed to be a anti vehicle weapon not give the enemy no chance at all weapon) and a 2 select targets such as a sniper whose pinning your team down or a mongoose which the enemy can use to escape.

Thoughts and opinions please? Also smoke grenades. Think about them.

The laser is fine, its supposed to be one of those weapons that have little ammo and be able to beat anything, sort of like the rocket launcher

But the rockets take skill to kill a vehicle with (you need to lead your shot, its not a guaranteed kill). All you need to do with the Spartan laser is point, click, kill. You should need to lead your shot, otherwise its overpowered, no matter how little ammo it has. Why not just include a nuke which you can shoot over to the other base, which kills everyone? Granted, you can only use it once... so its balanced, right?

I see no real issue with the Spartan laser, because it is not long lasting as it is. Sure, a really good player can get 5 kills at distances with it, but most "average" players probably cant. 5 shots allows a little room for mistakes, which happen rather often. Take the one on construct for example. You need 5 perfect shots if you want 5 perfect kills, and every shot you miss is one less kill.

Voila!

Ask yourself, do you go on slayer on valhalla and suddenly think, "Oh no, that Spartan Laser the other team is using is to powerful!" It's a simple question, but if you don't, then there's your answer.

The Spartan lazer is fine how it is. It is a LAZER. Meaning it moves as fast as light, which means you shouldn't have to LEAD your shot.

It only has 5 shots, it isn't effective at all at close range. It has a charge time which means it takes awhile to kill what you want to kill. So this means, if a Warthog sees the micro pinpoint lazer on it, it can get behind cover before you fire.

Also, that pinpoint lazer gives away your location, same with the charging sound.

Just because it is a beast of a weapon doesn't mean it doesn't have its flaws. Its flaws balance out the weapon. Next thing you know, you'll all want the SWORD to be removed because it kills in one hit, or you will want the Sniper weakened.

Or they could do that. If Bungie decides to nerf it (which it doesn't need), then change the crosshair to the H3 beta one (which looked cooler IMO), or removing the scope would be the only thing I'd want to see.

Quite honestly though, 5 shots makes it so that you can't have room for error. Also, it takes 3 seconds to charge, making it less effective, plus a cool down time. The Laser is a "do-or-die" weapon, even at mid range. Plus, using it at longer ranges makes it harder to use the weapon, making it possible to miss AND making everyone aware that you're holding it. It's pretty balanced as it is, IMO.

Besides, the Laser is needed to fight against air vehicles, like the Banshee and Hornet. You can kill someone with the H3 Rocket Launcher, but it's way too difficult to perform consistently to be of any use to the average player. A Rocket Launcher akin to Halo 2 would be too powerful anyways.

If any anti-vehicle weapon needs changing, it's the Missile Pod.


It had the scope, Im just saying that it has already taken hits and its perfectly ballanced the way it is now.

everyone who thinks that the laser needs to be weakened is wrong. they say it should tkae teamwork to take out a vehicle, well how about use teamwork to take out the laser? Then your team would be in control of the "Super Weapon"... plus if you know the other team has the laser, DONT GET IN VEHICLES!!!

Yeah the anti-vehicle weapons in H3 are all over the place. The missile pod is too slow and impractical and the Laser is way overpowered.

H2 Rocket Launcher was good I think, not sure why they changed it besides having the chance to add an easy-to-use power weapon.
