Think about this -

Halo: CE had a really awesome Campaign, right? That's because they focused all of their attention on the Single-Player because at that time, there was no Xbox LIVE.

So if Reach was two disc they could fill up one whole disc with a really sweet CE-ish campaign. Then, disc two could have Firefight and the normal MM stuff.
Y'see? This way we could have most of the community's suggested stuff in the game.
More Discs = More Room. More Room = More Stuff.

I hope one disc is Campaign and the other is multiplayer.

That would make a long ass campaign, despite that the battle over Reach was very short..

You're assuming that Halo 3's disc is full (and have no more memory) and that there's enough material in the game to fill two discs. (Downloaded content goes onto the console, not the disc, right?)
But, other than that, it's a decent idea...

Keep this thread alive! Maybe Bungie will do it!

Given the High resolution lightmaps can take up a solid chunk of the disc space. I for one think they should break it up into single player and multiplayer.

Halo 3 remains king of HDR.

You must have had a really bad setup.

yes that would supply a huge amount of content. i would like reach to be about 15+ chapters maybe even 20-25 (of good material not just trying to take up space). i would like to see a open world with a linear campaign like odst will be. if this would take up 1 disk then i would be all for it.

H3 also remains king of aliasing and low textures.
sure, explosions are pretty ... but textures are pretty low res, smoke is average (gta 4 has better looking smoke), the game is ALIASED AS HELL, it looks like a 8bit game x.x

As long as it does not mess anything up.
So it would be good if they would utilize the space and (presumably) gave a great overall game.
But I don't care as long as it is fun, competitive, and polished.

H3 IS H2 (HD)
At least by what I heard, because H3 could have been released on XBox, but they were too far in, and threw it on 360, good, but not perfect

hmmm
never thought of this...
the only downside would be having to switch the discs constantly...
that would mean getting off the couch...
:(

More epic features and levels in the game? Hell yes long as they don't just fill up the discs with stupid stuff. I want a campaign that people will just rush through or some people don't even play, because its not worth it i want a long campaign that can be even more better then multiplayer at times, and can keep you playing again and again.

Sarcasm aside; you raise a fair point. Perhaps we should be able to install the campaign disc, and then play it off the hard drive by using the multiplayer one.

If i die i forgive you, if i live...we will see.

I agree, completely filling one disc with the campaign and putting the multiplayer on the other could leave plenty of room for improvement on both fronts.

I agree with that also, it would make things a bit easier

Disk space is ALOT bigger now than it used to be, we can fit it all one one disk.

  • 07.21.2009 3:30 PM PDT

Mind, body and soul, possibly my sole properties

I think it'd be pretty damn annoying to have to switch discs ever time I want to switch from SP to MP or vice versa. If they absolutely needed the extra room they could make one disc an install disc, then the other disc could be the play disc plus whatever else needs to be installed, kinda like with some PC games.
