Okay i have no idea how the city is still standing after the space eruption from the covenant crusier. Can someone please tell me why it's not destroyed. If you rember from halo 2 you see parts of the city floating in space once miranda keyes frigate gets out of slipspace. Thank you for the help

Datass

parts of it were destroyed; New Mombasa, I'm sure, is as big as NYC if not bigger

it wasn't blown up. Part of the city that was inside the purple bubbly got sucked through. After such a loss of space, there would have been a huge, fiery shockwave that left the city as we see it

Fight the people you hate. Except when you play online, because not only will you sound stupid, but I will mute you, for I will not play online to fight you.

The city is MOSTLY destroyed (i.e. the parts floating in space). However, the areas that weren't in the slipspace eruption (or whatever), were not affected by it. I'm not trying to be a smartass, but that's what happened.

We didn't see New Mombasa get destroyed, we saw a white light surge through the city and knock around a few buses and level a few buildings.

It's like the nuclear warheads used during WWII.
The immediate area surrounding the detonation zone were heavily affected by the bomb and took massive amounts of damage if not being completely destroyed.

The areas farther out were affected, just not to the same degree as the initial blast zone.
