I cant seem to find (or comprehend) the information on google, so:
I understand that odst has one disk with:
campaign (new)
theater
firefight
forge
reach beta (or a code for said beta)

and another disk with:
all 24 halo 3 maps

So my question is if them multiplayer included with odst was the same as halo 3's and if so, will that multiplayer be able to play with those playing multiplayer on halo 3 original?

To sum it up: Will halo 3 original have anything besides its campaign to offer besides its campaign once odst is out that odst doesnt have?

Datass

nope. Also, the new maps are exclusive to halo 3 ODST at the moment

ODST disk:

ODST Campaign
Firefight
Theatre
Extras(Which is where the Reach beta is when it begins)

H3 disk:

Multiplayer with 24 maps(includes the brand new Heretic, Citadel and Longshore)
No campaign
Forge
Theatre

EDIT: Forgot Forge and Theatre >_>

No, the only thing ODST doesn't have from Halo 3 is the Campagin. It goes like this:
Disc 1
Campaign
Firefight
Theater (Only for ODST Campaign and Firefight)
Extras (Reach Beta)

Disc 2
Halo 3 Matchmaking
Halo 3 Custom Games
Halo 3 Forge
Halo 3 Theater

wait, so the 2nd disk (not odst campaign) is to be installed to h3, and played on h3 multiplayer? So is there a specific OPTION in odst's main menu for matchmaking?

The second disc is played by itself. It IS Halo 3 sans Campaign.

so is there any way to play matchmaking on the h3 disk with all 24 maps after odst, or will the second disk in odst be the only way to play h3 matchmaking with all 24 maps?

btw, i am now basing my questions off of what middleman said

There is NO multiplayer for ODST.

wrong. There's no MATCHMAKING for ODST. Multiplayer means anything involving more than one player, such as 4 player co-op and 4 player firefight.

Stop being so nitpicky

I call the "multiplayer" of Campaign and Firefight co-op. But w/e

co-op is still multiplayer

When you hear someone say "Let's play Halo 3 multiplayer!" what do you think of first? Surely not co-op?

The second disk is the only way you'll be able to play all the maps. The first disk won't have the three new Mythic Maps- considering those won't be released to the marketplace and it'd be quite dumb to buy them if you already have the ODST disk.

nope, no forge on the first disc. it just has the ODST campaign, Firefight, Theater, and the extras section which will include the Reach Beta.
and the second disc is basically halo 3 minus the campaign, plus all the DLC out there on the marketplace, plus 3 new maps.

if knowledge is power and power corrupts, isn't knowledge therefore dangerous?
Black Tower

Disc one: no forge.
Disc 2: 24 maps, forge, theater.

Yes, the two will be able to play each other, most likely, they use the same MM.

Not really, no.
