As for the guy above me, I would think it's to get people to buy xboxes. I work in a store, and let me tell you, the number 1 reason Xbox beat the PS2 last christmas was Halo, and not just that, but the PROSPECT of Halo 2 as well. Just the knowledge that it was coming was enough.
Anyway, just play it on your xbox. Just because you don't have the skillz to snipe without your precious mouse doesn't mean that the console is crap. ;)
