Do you know about time travel?

Really that would be very interesting, but I belive that players will just stick with the up-close and personal concept rather than going behind an enemy just to get a shield.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

This should have been in there from Halo 2.

Keep it a dual wieldable weapon.

I don't see why not when the spartans could in the books. I mean they didnt put it on their wrists they held them but an ODST could easily put one on each arm!

I almost never deal with Jackals the Brute-esque way. I usually shoot their arm and nail their head, and that's that. But I think your idea is interesting and a cool way to get "behind the shield."

still, I think that the ODSTs should be able to use them, especially since the average ODST is around 6' and jackals are around 5'6".

That could work. When using one it is as if you are wielding a support weapon. That would be a bit of a rip on Gears 2's shields though.

What could be bad about it?

could make the game to easy in some places . are you gona hav to drop it getting into a vechicle. if not hows it gona look wit a shield in your hand while your drivin and how would you. if you do its not very realistic then ....................stuff like that

Charge...BACKWARDS!

Like it, but you have 1 thing off. The spiker is like 40 pounds (due to the blades and spike ammo) and it would be hard with 1 arm after a while. Maybe you could use the SMG. But, anyways, neat idea.

Edit: my bad, after looking it up, the spiker's only 15 pounds (what?!).
Edit 2:
-SMG, a bit over 6 pounds
-Plasma Pistol, bit over 7 pounds
-M6C, 6 pounds

So, in reality, the SMG is almost the lightest weapon while carring the shield :O

It's strapped to your wrist, and you would either shut it off and keep it, or shut it off and throw it away if your getting in a vehicle, bungie's choice.

reloading will be an issue as well

FEET FIRST INTO HELL

It seems cool, but if ODST can't dual wield, they can't wield shields.
